OMSI 2 Add-on Chicago Downtown DLC

This addon is really good. I have a low to mid range desktop. Once I turn the settings down I get a decent framerate. It has all the needed things to make it feel like Chicago. I highly recomend it!

I really enjoyed this DLC because it is different from the original OMSI 2 maps. Being from North America, I personally enjoyed seeing an English-speaking map with familiar buses. However, the downside of this is that within 15 to 20 minutes of playing on the Chicago map, error messages would start to appear with long chains of numbers or messages from OMSI would show saying that there isn't enough memory to perform this action which was completely false as my computer has more than enough RAM for this game. Despite attempting to troubleshoot and doing everything I could, the game still froze either way. It is a shame to see as I really enjoyed this DLC but had to refund it. This issue does not happen on the original OMSI 2 maps and only occurs on the Chicago DLC. If the developers can help update this slightly and potentially sort out these issues, then it would be better. While am aware that this DLC is an older one which may affect how the game runs on newer computers, because of this problem, I cannot fully recommend this DLC to people.

Excellent add-on for OMSI 2, the best DLC I have seen. Puts a great American feel on the game. Best features are the route and destination announcments when opening the door of the bus (American buses have these sometimes), and the automatic stop announcments. Also, bus feels very realistic.

Very meticulously designed and original map. Good scenery, fantastic buses. Just one problem ...... snoooze! the two provided routes are sooooo dull and boring. Just 90 degree turns around large street blocks. It really does get very repetitive and dull very quickly. Some out of town routes would provide far more variety.

it is a brilliant add on, the map is so detailed and the buses are so detailed that it took me a good half an hour to figure out how to start up the bus, i feel that it was well worth the money and i strongly reccomend it to other bus enthusiasts who are tired of the add on maps all being in german.Goodbye i am off to play it again

This game is fun, however there are some problems: this game often lags and sometimes the bus turns white, it often crashes and if you brake suddenly the engine turns itself off and a light appears and says "low oil". Also this game is very pricey for what you get. $20 for 2 routes and 2 buses is quite expensive. You could easely complete this game in 1 to 2 hours. This game does not go on sale ever. I think the regular price should be $10-$15 and the sale price should be $5.

Excellent add-on. I am from Chicago and I have been downtown in the city many of times. Many of the areas and landmarks to the city streets & expressways are true to life accurate from when this DLC was made and published. Although while it doesn't represent any changes to how downtown Chicago currently looks now from construction to new buildings and such being added and built, I would say this route DLC is a great piece of history as somethings like the old Chicago Police car logos are phased out and the old Chicago Taxi cabs don't even really exist and Uber and lyft mainly replaced the taxi cabs in the present day. Unfortinutely, there are only really two bus routes included with this map, but a lot of seems to be particularly well done and cared for as well. As far as the buses go, they are also accurate as well for the time, even though they too have gone through a modernization process with upgrades and etc, that isn't really shown here, its still enjoyable to drive them through this Chicago downtown area map. I only had some minor hiccups with performance issues and the map crashing and not loading the middle of downtown or ai buses appearing solid white, but after a few weeks of play through the map seems to run a lot smoother now.

The performance of the addon is great. It's not very heavy on my settings unlike other maps. Definately worth the money. The two buses are excellent. Little complex to get going but once you've done it once it is simple. Ticket Printing is virtually non-existant (at-least I haven't figured it yet). AI Traffic looks fantastic and is extremely realistic. Aerosoft have created basic US Game "rules" that they actually follow (Right on Red, for one...). Many new features have been introduced which will quickly expand to forth coming maps, garunteed. One such noticable feature is opening and closing garage doors. Great feature. Highly recommended!

Chicago Downtown is an excellent addon. This addon goes for quality instead of quantity. Performance is fairly reasonable considering the detail. The buses have lots of new functions including random announcements and a new tickets system. I highly recommend this addon.
