Sam is a man
In the dark
Waiting for the moment
When you lose your sight
And when that happens
You know what's next
He'll trying to shut you
Cause you're not dead yet
"Hit me" out of 10

Conviction is one of my favorite games ever, on Xbox 360 it was one of the first games I had ever 100%'d because I loved it that much. Years ago I bought it to play with a friend but it turned out splitscreen didn't work on pc, that sucked but it was whatever. Now you can't even play online any more without setting up a network tunnel which most people naturally aren't going to want to do
The whole Microsoft Games bullshit should be ILLEGAL - I hope Ubisoft and Microsoft both get sued for this. LET ME PLAY ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES AGAIN, do that and I'll turn this review positive

Fire gameplay, it would be cool if it had remote play together. (Maybe in the future?)

The controls are terrible, it has unskippable cutscenes, and runs like hot garbage on my pc.

Can't say I experienced any trouble getting this game to run. Played on windows 10. The system validator throws an error saying the operating system is not supported but gives the option to "continue anyway", the ubisoft launcher boots in the background and then the game runs fine. Did not experience any crashes on my playtrough on ye olde GTX 1060 and a ryzen 3900X.
The game itself is short. I only played through the campaign in about 4 sittings, which is not necessarily a bad thing for these kind of 7th gen 3rd person shooters. Controls are buttery smooth for a 2010 release. Definitely not my favourite Splinter Cell though, stealth is thrown out of the window in this one. All in all enjoyed my playthrough, feels like eating pizza after 5 beers.

Ubisoft needs to just die at this point. The games they make now are trash and they can't bother to optimize the handful of good games in their company's history. This game's campaign and co op modes were top tier in the Xbox 360 days and the fact that we live in an age of supercomputers that suffer running a game like this is laughable.
You have to go into the games files and delete a file for it to be able to run at all (at least on Windows 11):
steamapps\common\SplinterCellConviction\src\system and delete 'systemdetection.dll'
