Extremely short but also extremely beautiful. Still, this route almost costs 2 euro per mile of track.

For 5 bucks, there really isn't much to complain about. It looks great, with plenty of option to use preferred power for "excursions" or something. I like it.

ENG/CZE: Very nice track, but unfortunately it will probably not be realized in the real world (see the Facebook page of this project). DLC is very detailed, DMU type Class 117 is nicely modelled. The track is only single track and is not electrified. It runs through a very nice rural landscape, full of meadows and small forests. There are only a few small stations along the route. The total length is only about 7 miles. I can recommend it at a discount. xxxxxxxxxx Velmi pěkná trať, která však bohužel v reálném světě nejspíše nebude realizována (viz facebooková stránka tohoto projektu). DLC je velmi detailní, DMU typ Class 117 je pěkně modelován. Trať je pouze jednokolejná a není elektrifikována. Vede velmi pěknou venkovskou krajinu, plnou luk a menších lesů. Na trase je jen několik malých stanic. Celková délka je jen cca 7 mil. Ve slevě mohu doporučit.

Its a ok line. The things that suck on this, is the scenery distance is very short, you can see the end of the scenery while driving, and the line to the quarry has NO SCENERY! The sounds on the 117 havent changed. All in all, its a good route, that needs some route builders to make it better. I give this 7/10, just because the small amount of scenery distance, and the no scenery quarry branch

North Somerset Railway is a amazing dlc! In this dlc u get only one train , but this train is very nice and fun to drive , there are only 4 career scenarios , but you can get more from steam workshop. I rate this dlc at 10/10. The price is also good , you can get this dlc for 46.99 pln. I recommend it to anyone who likes handy routes and classic trains

This is probably my favourite route for train sim. It is very well detailed, and because it is short it is easy to run. The train included isn't great but is driveable. The best thing is that it acctually feels like Britain! 10/10 Definatelly recommend

I feel that I should have taken more notice of an earlier reviewer's comments on the shortcomings of this route. If Whatley Quarry line had been developed, it would have greatly enhanced the whole experience. If more of the points [switches] were operable I could have had more fun with the line. If there had been a "run around" at both ends of the line I could be running heritage trains that weren't only DMU's. However, due to the quality of the build etc. I have to recommend it. It cost around the price of a six-pack of beer, and I will certainly get more lasting pleasure out of the railway.

I don't Usually comment. But this route though short and sweet. Is very polished. i.e. no passenger appearing from walls or walking in front of the train like nameless zombies. No gaps to railway bridges. The scenery is what you would expect. 100% I wouldn't think its everyone cup of tea. But I feel its got potential. I personally don't care for single track routes. But this can be over come. It would be good to link this up to. Bath Templcombe route. As for one of the scenarios;! You wouldn't get all those young people up at that time in the morning. Or are they just going home! HA HA. Train spotter is good twist. Nice short route. I wont comment on the price. As I get a route for Its potential for my own Pleasure.

The North Somerset Railway is a seven mile single track route running from Frome Market to Radstock... well, not at the moment it's not. The NSR is actually a planned railway, sort of a fusion of heritage and operating railway, which is scheduled to partially reopen in 2018 - I wonder if it will be... I believe that DTG were commissioned to produce the route by the group advocating re-opening of the line, and DTG decided to release it for domestic use, similar to the history behind the Glasgow Airport Rail Link route.
Route
It's fairly standard Somerset running through beautiful countryside, challenging gradients, and small countryside stations. There's a few headshunts and loops, but no refueling facilities - even at the line's shed, so don't expect to be running intensive heritage gala scenarios any time soon. The scenery is beautiful with high quality assets and attention to detail. Plenty of unique road signs, 3D Thomson tracks and 3D Trees really make the line feel alive. There's also - perhaps most importantly - a trainspotter asset! Complete with camera, wire-frame glasses, and bobble hat! Now you too can recreate the "Execution in Russia" sketch from Monty Python! Sadly, the line doesn't go all the way to Frome, but the biggest disappointment is Whatley Quarry. Or rather, the lack of Whatley Quarry. The track is laid complete with scenario markers, but there's no scenery! It's very disappointing and takes away a lot of potential. Limestone trains are currently a big part of the route after all.
Rolling Stock
The included rolling stock is a Class 117 DMU in North Somerset Railway livery - essentially Chocolate & Cream, which is exactly what the 117s wore in their final days in Cornwall. In the route's 'canon' the line is operated by 117 308 with bespoke destination boards. The sounds are unchanged, the modelling itself is unchanged... the driver is still static - no animations at all. It's a little disappointing.
Conclusion
The route is very well made and although it's interesting to actually drive along a proposed railway and what it could look like, £7.99 for seven miles of single track running with very limited potential? I'm sorry but I really can't recommend this unless it's on sale at a pretty hefty discount. But that's my opinion, this does feel like a Marmite route after all. On the bright side, it's still a lot cheaper than the Glasgow Airport Rail Link for roughly the same length and amount of scenarios.

Just what a little fantastic beautiful route for the buck! Since its full line of this railway opening in the future (2025). The distance of this route is very short and I'm very ok with and the price they have offered. The scenery is very nice and it comes with a Class 117 dressed in Chocolate & Cream livery. I'm really not a owner of the removed Class 117 for WSR but it sounds like the other gear driven DMUs I had driven in TS. I would rate this 9/10!
