I like the route, but there are quite a few issues.
PROS-
The scenery is just spectacular
New loco is quite well done
No recycled sounds
CONS-
VERY VERY VERY LAGGY!
No career scenario
No sifa or pzb
I think I prefer koln to Koblenz
But I'll rate it 7/10 on detail and 1/10 on frame rate. Making its overall score 8/20. Which makes it so i dont recommended

The best German add on to my T.S 2017 (together with Köln to Kobentz ) I tested so far!
Exept the locomotives..Almost no working buttons at all on this! No SIFA ,No PZB, Why?? I would rather recommend vR's expert line locomotives if you want to drive realistically!
Yes, I strongly recommend this add on!

Not quite sure why the reviews are mixed, maybe because most of them are old. This is a good addition, yes it does not have Sifa and PZB/LZB, but it scenic and quite nice.

Can't recommend this. No moveable cameras, no working safety systems poor sound quality as well as really poor graphical quality compared to todays standards

This route was recommended to me by a friend so while it was on sale *35% off at time of writing* I took a leap of faith and bought it. The route is nicely detailed and ideal for those wanting to get into German content without having to worry about the various issues that generally pop up elsewhere, now if a mistake is made it's more due to inattention than sloppy testing by the developer. Scenarios are standard only but cover freight and passenger runs with a nice selection of rolling stock but the included loco's have simplified safety systems so no Sifa and no PZB BUT the route has working PZB so you can use other locos that can make use of it. This gives new comers a chance to get to grips with the more complex German system but might be a let down for veterans.
I haven't really come across serious downsides to the route. At random spots the HUD will say your speeding despite being under the limit and this happens in random spots but can also be brought on by simply spending a short period of time in outside views. Since standard scenarios have no scoring these speeding prompts aren't as serious.

I am updating my review as my intial review was maybe a bit unfair based on just the one scenario I played. So long as you dont mind putting up with the niggling annoyances which I have stated below, I would recommend this pack especially if like me you get it reduced - definately worth the reduced price of £13.99, not so sure if it is worth full price of £19.99 though.
Like:
- Changeable destination screens on the DB BR 928 (use num0 or Shift+Num0 to change screen)
- Animation of signals is nice when they change (its not instant - they fade and change) and yellow changes to more of an deep orange colour if there is snow in the signal which is a nice touch!
- Scenery on the majority of the route is excellent
- All scenarios keep you alert with various signal checks or having to respond to the constant speed limit changes (which are all marked clearly so as long as you are paying attention and understand German signalling (advance 40kph warnigs etc) you shouldnt have any issue exceeding speed limits.
Dislike:
- NO CAREER SCENARIOS - All scenarios are standard but maybe the workshop will fix this for us?!
- Seems to be an issue with saving a scenario part way through - if you do this then reload the scenario you cannot actually continue the scenario as the throttle lever doesnt do anything so you are stuck where you saved it - sometimes you dont even have to leave the game - I did a save on the ore train part one scenario (but didnt exit the game), had to stop for a red signal then when I got the clear, I couldnt go anywhere as the throttle wouldnt do anything, so Im going to have to start the scenario again having almost completed it.
- On ONE of the scenarios only (the Xmas Markets one) - there is an issue with signal visibility in that you cannot see the signals which apply to you until you are almost upon them - even though you can see signals on other tracks just fine!
- The DB BR 928 has mirrors on it with a static reflection - the reflection should at least show a reflection of the side of train rather than a reflection of the interior of the cab!
- When driving Freight scenarios, there are no sounds from the wagons once the locomotive has passed - this seems to apply to all the freight scenarios, not just one of them.
- (FIXED - See Comment from 10 Jul 2017) Parts of the route look unfinished - theres is a scenario where you go along a branch to a terminus then come back - parts of the branch line goes along a "trapesium" shaped embankment - which must be the base for creating the embankment, however there isnt any foliage or other scenery on it so it looks like they just forget to put scenery on these short sections! The scenery elsewhere on the majority of the route is excellent though.
OTHER NOTES:
- DB BR928 unit - Engine sounds sound ok (although not sure how well they simulate the the real thing) and you only get the engine sounds at one end of the (2 car) train - so scenarios lke the RB94 scenario where you drive to a terminus then come back result in a very quiet trip going one way!)

I bought this add-on regardless of the mixed reviews, and I do not regret it. The route is beautiful and detailed, and has enough diversity to be entertaining at every part of it. It's not possible to do a quick drive all the way from Trier to Koblenz, but from Trier to Bullay is 55km, which is long enough for me for a quick drive. Could do another quick drive Cochem to Koblenz directly after. (Oddly you cannot start a quick drive from Bullay with an electric train.)
Biggest downside IMO is that on quick drive, very few AI trains are spawned. On my way to Trier to Bullay I only met 2 approaching AI trains. All the railyards are completely empty, which gives an abandoned feel to the world (especially near Trier there's a huge railyard without even a single wagon). Another thing I noticed is that the yellow lights on the signals is more orange than on other routes. I occasionally thought a distant yellow signal was showing red instead.
I bought this mainly for the BR628/BR928, since I did not own a German DMU yet. It's a nice cute little train. I haven't tested all the safety systems, since I'm not playing *that* realistic. It's a bit of a shame that the unelectrified part of the route (Bullay - Traben Trarbach) is pretty short.

As somebody who has ridden the rails between Koblenz and Trier, this route masterfully models the beautiful Mosel valley in incredible detail. The only thing that I can complain about is the variety of missions. Included is the BR628 DMU which only runs on a short section of track. There are a number of cargo scenarios and one IC train scenario which lets you run in the evening. Its difficult to appreciate the beauty of the line at that hour.
Hopefully some quality workshop scenarios will fix this soon.. But still this is quality DLC right out of the box! Well done Aerosoft!
