This route is a very nice route with 2 very nice locomotives included and a number of very nice looking pieces of rolling stock and buildings. The locomotive uses recycled sounds, which is disapointing but it isn't to hard to fix and the dual gauge doesn't really work for other standard gauge locomotives and equipment. Other than that it is a very nice route. I highly recomend trying to go from Georgetown to Silver plum with a long freight, good fun.

Loved the detailed scenery and the obvious care with which many of the assets are placed. Wish the sounds were a little more dynamic and varried, but otherwise, excellent. I've been waiting for a good early-20th-century route for a while now, and this absolutely delivers that.

AWESOME! The route runs curves through the valley, and its beautifully made. The little Baldwin engine is cute but still powerful. With a custom-scripted auto-fireman that has different settings, even me can get up those 4% grades. The route is single track but there's several bypasses along the route. The 'main' route between Golden and Silver Plume takes roughly 3 hours to drive, and then there's the branch line to Black Hawk. There's even switchbacks if you want to go all the way to Central City, which is a fun little feature. All lines have a basic 18mph speed limit, and a few bridges use 5mph. The Baldwin loco has an animated bell too. With several platforms and freight depots, the route is suitable for both passenger runs and freight hauling.

Different from most TS routes. Quite enjoyable, except a bit too challenging with the 4% slopes, as, even with enough steam in the boiler, they are hard to climb. Overall an enjoyable experience, with tiny bits of frustration (one of the scenarios is rather "difficult", as you have two stations where you have to park the locomotive in a certain spot with just a few centimetres of acceptance. If you're out of that area, you won't be able to unload and be on time to the next stop). It comes with 12 scenarios (2 of which are tutorials, so that makes it 10 scenarios, really), but they are very similar, so you may end up getting bored with some of them (specially since you'll be driving at 18 or 12 mph most of the time....). The route itself is very well modelled, as well as the two steam engines (oil & coal) & all the rolling stock. Framerate is also quite solid, compared to some other routes (everything on max, 1080p, 30-40 fps easily).

There's an obvious tremendous attention to detail taken in creating this route. Having driven US-6 (the modern day location of this route) west of Golden to Idaho Springs, as well as to Blackhawk and Central City, many times every outcrop of rock, every mountainside, and even the location, shapes, and colors of structures seem accurate based on what I've seen in historical photos of the area (looking at Beaver Brook, which I think has a picture in the Idaho Springs Beau Jo's) are accurate to a level of detail that would require screen caps and photography to discern. The Georgetown Loop is particularly magnificent, as the valley to the east prior to I-70 (including the mountains on both sides--to the south forming Guanella Pass and the area that would include the Argentine Central RR, Mt Stevens, are exquisitely detailed. The towns of Blackhawk and Central City are wonderfully done and have allowed me to place into three dimensions key pieces of history, including the location of both trestles and the actual path of the route from Blackhawk to Central City where there are scarce remainders today due to all the casino development. I'm really excited to continue playing this route and I have hopes that this developer will complete other famous Colorado Narrow Gauge routes: Durango to Silverton, the Switzerland Trail, the Alpine Tunnel, Florence & Cripple Creek RR through Phantom Canyon, the Midland Terminal (modern CO24), the Denver, South Park, and Pacific over Kenosha Pass (modern US285), or even Hagerman Pass/Tunnel.

This route is loads of fun. It looks very good, the scenarios are well-written and give a good variety of weather and tasks, the tutorials do a good job of teaching you how to drive the included steam engines up the steep inclines. The steam engines provide a good challenge, but not too much, and have a custom-scripted auto-fireman (although you do need to tell him how hard he has to work). The scenery and the rock formations along the route are very well done and let you see some impressive sights. The atmosphere overall is great. The route has given me hours of fun already. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best purchases I have made in a while. This map is beautiful. The locomotives and cars, are beautiful. The towns are huge, and feel alive. There are tons of small industries accessible by trains, and tons of small eye catching details along the way. However, this route is not without flaws. The biggest problem with this DLC is the sounds. The chuff loop and whistle are from the DTG PRR K4s pack, these sounds arent terrible, but don't properly suit the engine, and are a bit dated. The big problem though, is the flange squeal. If you've played train sim before, you know when you go around sharp curves, or go around normal curves a igh speeds, you get the screeching sound. The problem here is that the game see's the locomotives as standard gauge, so these curves that are quite big for these eninges, create TONS of squeaking. Over all, this route is not without its problems, but for fans of the colorado narrow gauge, or fans of 1910-1930 steam, this is a must buy.

I love this route, lots of great rolling stock and engines. The route is a nice legnth with a one brank going North. This route also has a Dual Gauge section at Golden which sadley only works with the supplied rolling stock, Other american engines will not work on there nor will the standard gauge rolling stock from Clear Creek work on other routes. As this is one of the first Americans Routes meant for steam and first Narrow Gauge route I would definetly buy it.
