Although I do like the route, it's got major flaws. It doesn't give you the feel that you're actually in suburban New Jersey, innacurate roads, cars are European, wrong crossing gates/lights. And the route does have some bugs, crossing guards clipping through the track, ballast exposed on roadways. It also doesn't include other rail lines that cross it, the former Boonton Line and the Staten Island Railway, taking away from the realism. From the time it came out, it was a big disappointment not to have the Multilevels, but since they're out I've noticed two bugs with them. The windows are too dark, and when the headlights are off they appear to just be black and have no lenses. It's also a let down not to have any Comet V regular coaches and only cab cars. Pretty soon NJT will be ditching the Comet IV's. And although I do love the F40 and GP40, they really aren't the right choice for this line. All F40's were taken out of revenue service in 2013. And GP40's rarely operate this line. Personally I think the PL42 should've been included. My conclusion, don't get this line unless you live in the area or are a fan of NJT. If I wasn't I would've been let down compeltely. Oh, and the sounds suck as usual. That's why I bought some sound mods or downloaded free ones.

Really Amazing commuter route! Has good amounts of detail and has the two major commuter cars that run on the route! 10/10 really nice!

What a thoroughly interesting route. I was never going to buy this route as I thought it was just more of a local passenger train line. Fortunately it came as part of the "Pioneer" version of TS2017 and I am really astounded at the scenic variety of the Coastal portion of the line. So even the driving of passenger services is interesting. More than that is the number and variety of Freight Train potential, I can see for me. This route is an eye-opener, that needs to be seen. Another thing I look for is how realistic, has the caternary system been applied. Much catenary on early routes was mediocre, but this is very realistically applied.

I think this DLC has a lot of potential. My experience so far is that more often than not, scenarios will not load. It will crash / lock up while trying to load. I've had to do repeated computer reboots to get scenarios to load. Hope a fix is in the works for this issue. When I do get a scenario to load, the route is quite enjoyable to drive. I think overall Dovetail Games has done a good job creating this route. Again, lock ups during loading is frustrating. Hope to see a fix soon.

The route is very nice and has a lot of detailed scenery and stations. Both the ALP-45DP and the Comet V Cab Car shot on this add on. I have some issues that I would like to report. While I brake on the Comet V Cab car that it wheelslips espically while stopping at stations. Not only the wheelslip on the cab car but its alerter doesn't make any noise so it's hard to hear on when you have acknowedge it. You could also see the outside while comming into the tunnels from NY Penn which gets into my OCD. I would recommend this DLC with the F40PH-2CAT bundle becuase spending that extra $5 won't hurt. Hopefully DTG can patch up the bugs on this DLC as this would need more work.

You're really supposed to pick up (Morristown instead and) one of the diesels. The ALP-45DP scenarios cover the electric part, while the diesels the outer section. The DP scenarios are a bit short or few, but with the additional DLC and potential scenario packs, it's fair. The DP is classified as electric, so can't run all the way in QM, but diesels can. The bilevels shown on the pictures above belong to the ALP-46 DLC which is separate, but comes with Morristown. As a new player I didn't really like this. With five years of experience I get to appreciate the visuals and the variety of the environments. The mix of busy, suburban towns alongside parks and forests, river crossings, coast line, plus of course the busy section around Hoboken and the NEC makes it enjoyable. Comparatively heavy on the graphics. Workshop covers it nicely. Even found a GG1 scenario with some extra platforms added for stops removed since. I have one major gripe, track signaling. It mostly works (for QM and your own standard scenarios), but there is one Approach at South Amboy that's limiting you to travel 30mph for a significant section and thus fail every timetable. Some scenarios start past a signal so you're limited to 15. Thus initially you want to ignore it. Off by default, I guess the devs ignored it as well.

I love this route with the info of it back in the day in the 1st scenario, its laggy. but it is still enjoyable, there is alot of detail in this route especially in Hobken you can see the New York side with The World Trade Center. The NJT ALP-45DP and Comet Vs are highly detailed and now this route came with Multilevels! Absolutly stunning to look at and drive! 9/10

The Bombardier ALP-45DP does not seem to have the in-cab signaling as specified in the post. This seems to be a problem with the new ALP-46 as well. As a former EL towerman I was also disapointed in the detail of the Hoboken Terminal and the waterfront. Missing lots of features such as the old West End tower at the tunnel outlets, Relay huts and electric hardware at Grove Street X-overs, Large Train timtable display in terminal, Path entrances and ferry slips etc. All the things that make it look like its been there for years instead of built yesterday.

I've been waiting for this DLC for a while since these are my home rails. Maybe I got my hopes up too high. There are several issues with this DLC. Quick Drive does not work, it crashes the game. When using the Comet V cab car with the ALP-45DP, turning the bell on in the cab car turns on the bell on the locomotive. I purchased the combo pack which also includes the F40PH-2CAT. For some reason in the locomotive the hotkey B will not turn on the Bell. I feel that the quality of this DLC is far below previous packs and quality has gone down overall. The whole thing feels rushed. If these issues can be addressed in a fix/patch than perhaps I can change my review to a recommend, as the look and feel of the route is really accurate and well done.

Its a nice route in terms of looks but overall it's a complete disappointment. PROS Nice detailed stations. Some accurate sounds. CONS Quick drive won't let you go the full length of the route, even though the ALP45 is dual power and the F40PH-2CAT is diesel. The game crashes when I attempt to start at New York/Hoboken. The quick drive consists only go up to 6 coaches, even though most trains use 8 in real life (depending on where they are going). Pressing the B button in the Comet V causes the bells on both the comet V and the ALP45 to sound. On the F40PH-2CAT, pressing the B button won't sound the bell. Overall, the route is a disappointment . If DTG fixed these problems then i could recommend the route. But for now, don't buy the route or wait for a sale (if you're that desperate).
