In the days of i7 6700K and GTX960s, this is not worth 11.99 - thoroughly disappointed.

Nice engine. I really like the significant sound change when you open windows in the cab (even has wind noise at higher speeds) and overall the textures are nice. Horn is loud and boistrous - like it. Worth it at the sale price. Get it if you like deisels.

Just picked this up in the Summer Sale, an excellent model by Skyhook Games, nicely built and textured, the sounds are very good, lots of hisses and brake release noises and a loud two tone horn, functioning switches in a prototypical cab layout with black exhaust plumes when you set off, released in 2 liveries depicting Railfreight and Coal Sector Grey with an assortment of PGA and HAA MGR coal hoppers nicely weathered, all in all a super package at the discounted price, I'm well pleased, can't see what folks have complained about for what you get.

A modern classic, this also has an EW&S (EWS) Market Place add-on that is worth the additional outlay. By the time of EWS these machines were used a lot on engineers trains. A nice add on.

Hi everyone. The only issue I found with this loco, is that I could not find it in my Loco, Rolling stock, & routes menu. I wanted to make a scenario, but I could not find this locomotive anywhere. I have purchased this locomotive recently. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thx. Sid Swindle.

The locomotive that kept the electricity on it was important because it was designed solely to haul MGR coal trains I grew up with these powerhouse's and I have been asking for it in the game for a while now and is a prime favourite having come from a mining background I'm delighted this loco has come to train simulator. As for the livery well, it has to be Railfreight coal sector with the appropriate logo symbolises what this iconic classic was built for. COAL and nothing else will do just vital were the HAA's a simple, robust realible design for nearly 5 decades I'm a huge class 58 fan Now unfortunately the thing disappoints me most is that there are many class 56's a machine built in late 70s how not a single class 58 is operational most are either in long term storage or Sadley scrapped, now to think they were built with ease of maintenance in mind as realieable they were its a shame how the ended there days to a excellent loco but not all is on the downside how the cl58lg has sent there class 58 to Leicester for repairs for use on heretiage lines, personally I think that's good see faithfull 58 running again but would have been nice to see it available for spot hire to railfreight operators also Thanks so much for adding this excellent iconic classic

This is a decent looking model with adequate textures. It drives ok with nicely actioned throttle and brakes, However, thats about the only positives I can give. The sounds, whilst louder than some are poorly edited together; there's an annoying looping drone at full throttle, and there are very obvious "jumps" or "steps" between power settings that are entirely unnatural, e.g. idle -> off idle transitions, mid-range power setting overlaps, etc. The overall level of the sounds seem to vary wildly, too; from extremely loud close up to suddenly very quiet when only a few feet away. The horn, whilst two tone, has an odd reverb to it that I cannot recall experiencing on any other model. In addition, there is little control over the horn duration -- you get the full sample whether you want it or not; you can't just give a short toot. The clag is thick black and seems quite blocky and formless. Thick, black balloons of fug at full power. This might not be so bad if it actually looked like exhaust smoke, but it doesn't. There are light switches for left and right markers, headlight and taillights, but these are all linked together. The usual keyboard shortcut "H" for headlights does work, but rather than being a snap on/off switch (as is physically modelled), it only works by holding the key down, responding like a very slow rotary. Overall, I'd say this was a 5/10, which is a crying shame for such an iconic locomotive class. Needs drastic attention from Mr. Richard Armstrong :)
