X-Plane 10 AddOn - Carenado - C152 II DLC

Just started learning to fly and this so far seems like an accurate model for appearance and flight. Even down to the air vents you can push in and out and twist round. I use it to practice what I will be covering in my lessons.

Currently training in a 152 and bought this to help maintain my knowledge/muscle memory between lessons. This model responds exactly the same as its real-life counter-part. The cockpit is very detailed and accurate - the only thing it is missing from my trainer is an avionics switch. This model, along with the purchase of rudder pedals has helped me get more out of every flight lesson and has probably saved me a few hundred dollars already. Such a simple plane, but almost every pilot has flown one of these - so the pressue is on to get it right. They got it right.

I am a newbie when it comes to flying flight simulators and I do not hold a pilots license, so if you are a seasoned hardcore flight sim user, go tweak and polish your $5000 equipment and do not respond to this review with a storm of hate, these are but the thoughts and contemplations of a simpleton. I bought this addon after having watched it featured in angleofattacks flight school videos and have not regretted it at all. This is a lovely plane and it is something I keep returning to all the time. Sometimes when you have generated overly zealous 10+ GB city sceneries and have installed all those payware plugins everyone loves, you want to lay your eyes upon the beauty of your virtual X-plane world going really really slow. It is then you want to wield this plane, cause it can fly just that slow. Sure it is old and not HD, and sure it is not rendered as well as its FSX counterpart, but still, it's nice. And it feels wonderful in the air. Another great thing with this plane is that there is not a million different radars and complicated computers or flight management computers to learn, just the relatively simple ones that newbies like myself can learn without too much hassle. Good stuff: Handles great in the air, feels like I would imagine it would flying for real. (in comparison to poor freeware) From the outside, it looks marvelous. The sound is like the sound of many waters and will feel like hypnotic warm milk for your ears. There is no annoying activation that will kill your product if the company goes belly up. Well, that I know of anyway. Bad stuff: Internally the dashboard is rendered great, the rest not so much. Looking behind you in the plane is like playing Half-life again even with max on all settings. There are only 4 liveries with the DLC, which would be sufficient if they were not only the color of the stripes and hood of the plane. I would like to see some different instrumentation as well. Price. Sure you get a DLC, but this is not an entire game, it is simply an airplane. That's it. And because it is not the "real thing" you get when you buy a licensed Boeing plane for double the price, it kind of feels like a lot with 23 Euro or $26. Yeah yeah, it's not a game, it's a simulator, fine. I still think everyone should have this plane, and not spend a bunch to get it. To sum up, do I recommend this. Yes, definitely! Carenados products are so good they should like crack dealers let you have the first hit for free. Cause you will come back for more, even tough your wallet, and wife, is screaming in despair.

This is a FANTASTIC product. I recomend anyone training in a C152/172 to buy this product because it is very highly detailed. This aircraft performs almost exactly as the real plane and I highly reccomend it. Thanks Carenado!
