I bought the Balalaika on a whim, installed, mapped the controls and took off into the skies of the Caucasus without any prep. This thing is fast! However, its engine had to be restarted twice just in my first flight. Second time I had no altitude left so I just landed it in a field. Amazing. What an unforgiving beast this is. 7.5/10 I didn't give it a higher rating for a reason. While the Mig-21 itself left a great first impression, the DCS module is really old and dated when compared to modules released in the last 3-4 years. Here's hoping, like so many others before me, that an upgrade for the pencil of doom is just another two weeks away.
