It is long, although not that long - I just got stuck a few times on the way. Anyway, this is the best cyberpunk game I played since Neuromancer (Interplay, 1988). Fantastic writing, solvable puzzles, great visuals (with the limitations of the AGS engine), a hassle-free user interface, fully voiced, different solutions and even two endings, missable cheavos, no bugs (that I found). It was just a joy to play, like reading a good sci-fi book or watching a movie. Conclusion: Is this game a masterpiece? Yes, I consider it one of the best point and click adventures ever written.

With a gripping story, breathtaking visuals, and a wonderful full voice cast, Technobabylon is certainly one of the best point & click adventures I've played. The way you can enter cyberspace like in Ghost in the Shell is a really cool mechanic that the game makes good use of in puzzles which require hacking. It contrasts well against the gameplay when controlling the protagonist who doesn't have any cybernetics who cannot enter The Trance as the game calls it. Overall I had a lot of enjoyment and I'm really glad I played it. Using a walkthrough when I got stuck, it took me about 10 hours to get 1 ending, and as long as you save before a crucial choice in the final chapter you only have to re-play a tiny portion and change a single decision to get the 2nd ending. It is however at times quite frustrating in the obtuseness of its puzzles and I'm fairly confident that I wouldn't have been able to reach the end without a walkthough. (There's a good, though overly verbose walkthrough on gamefaqs). However the same could be said of a majority of point & click adventure games, so if that's enough to turn you off, then I don't think this is the right genre for you regardless. The only actual warning I would give is that a small number of puzzles require precise timing and manual dexterity to complete and I got pretty angry having to re-do them over and over until I succeeded, but at no point did I feel they were impossible for me. Still if you have limited manual dexterity or struggle severely with precise timing this might not be the one for you. You should also know that you can right-click on things to read a description of them or get a closer look at them. If the game tells you that, I must have missed it and the only walkthrough I found didn't mention it. Some puzzles become effectively impossible if you don't know you can do that.

If you're into classic point-and-click adventures and sci-fi, you'll probably enjoy this one. The game successfully mixes a cyberpunk story with interesting characters and puzzles that are well-designed, offering an immersive experience.
