I want to start by exclaiming: I do like a GOOD challenge. That’s why i decided to play on nightmare. The combat system is unique and interesting. However, having to redo half of the missions, because i was a bit too careless, made it feel more like a chore. On top of having to play though the game again, the world got stale pretty fast. This made it even less enjoyable for me. Some of the optional challenges were next to impossible, just because the area was way too small or you were unable to use your rarities. Often times when having an enemy encounter, I would try to survive as long as possible, so that my rarities might spawn in. Without them I wouldn’t be able to even stand a chance to win. Another problem i had was with the checkpoints. Because on nightmare you are mostly one- or two-hit to most of the enemies, thus causing you to game-over pretty fast. Oftentimes the checkpoints were spaced awkward, so you would have to redo a small boss or walk up to the boss and mash though the dialog again. Thats why I started intentionally throwing some fights, just to get my resources back. Sadly, I got too frustrated towards the end, so i just wanted to get it done and i skipped the ending of the storry. It might have been a nice experience, if I haven’t been so hellbent on playing it on nightmare.

As a fan of mystery horror games like Silent Hill 2, I was excited to try this one, but unfortunately, it fell short. The game is primarily focused on combat, which doesn't justify the $60 price tag. The controls feel clunky, the upgrade options are limited, and there isn’t much else to explore. After Chapter 1, the story takes a nosedive, leaving little to engage players. I found it really disappointing with a price tag of $60 and I expected much more.

When a really good action game gets review bombed for not being a horror game. Steam reviews are a joke.

The guy behind Silent Hill and Siren made a horror-themed action game on a low budget that is definitely not hiding that budget well and honestly? It kinda slaps if you can look past the jank. The characters are likeable enough for what they are, the combat feels fun once it clicks that you're supposed to be swapping bodies at the slightest provocation, the story is a complete acid trip that somehow also makes total sense, the game runs like butter with a downright gorgeous style and the soundtrack ranges from charming to bone-chilling. If you like body horror and action games, this one is worth a try for sure.

From the creator of Silent Hill and Siren and you can definitely tell even if this plays more like an action game than surivial horror. It clearly didn't have a AAA budget (some asset reuse/limited amount of enemy types/no full voice acting) but it makes good use of what it did have. The game looks nice, runs well and I didn't encounter any bugs. It's not perfect but it's a game with some interesting ideas that it executes pretty well on. Recommended, especially if you like AA games that are willing to be a bit more out there.
