This is an excellent addition to all those early era Diesels, with their iconic sound.

A very nice loco but the sounds are horiffic! I work around locos at Epping and Ongar railway and before our 25 went for body repairs, it sounded about 1,000,000 times better than this. This train's sounds are so horiffic. I just hope Armstrong Powerhouse make a sound pack for it.

I don't mind about the fact it's an Iron Horse House re-upload and ported into Steam, but although it may look like it's reused, She's a LOUD 'ol beast! If you want loud monster sounding locos, I'd say pick this up, £7.99 isn't too bad for a loco that also can have the headcode panel messed around with.

This Loco Surprisingly isn't that bad the engine and track joint sounds are alright and the texturing in the cab showing the paint peeling off and rusting exposing is pretty good nice attention to detail However the down sides are Reused Mk1 Coaches No Run sounds on Coaches or Loco No Horn and the scripting for Amps and physics Only 1 livery is Included change the Headcode box while playing the Scenario I can only recommend this loco if you like driving in Scotland, want to get it in a sale or you are brand new to TS Overall 5/10 DTG not Bad

The Class 27 is an older model and because of that is somewhat dated here and there now. I'm not going to mention the sounds as I'm not an expert, but to me they do the job and they work. I'm happy with the model too. It looks good and drives just as good. It lacks polish, here and there, but it is now quite old as I said. But overall, just like the sounds, it does the job, nicely. Again, for whatever reason, DTG release a model with only one livery. Why? I know these can be picked up from other places for free but it would be nice to see a little more added by the game devs. It is something I don't like as they could easily knock up more. The other problem is scenarios. They list this as having four, but yet again, two are only simple training missions. I know they need to add these in for people to get familiar with the loco. But it wouldn't hurt them to add two more extra scenarios so we can really get to grips with the loco. To overcome this problem, look in the workshop, you'll find some good ones there. Which brings me nicely to this add-on's strong point. Most of the these scenarios will be for the Western Lines of Scotland route, like the official two mentioned above. And it is because of the WLoS route that I'm recommending this loco. It you love early diesels, like I do, you'll overlook its shortcomings, and simply enjoy the experience of driving on that incredible route that the Class 27 was made for. Oh...and get the Class 20 for it as well. Gameplay video: https://youtu.be/7x4CNYLEUxc

Update: This has become one of my favorite locos. Especially with free reskins of the original green color, yellow and steel, it's simply a wonderful, noisy loco. Get it. You'll be happy you did. Another nicely done loco, with 'weathered' look inside and out (if in somewhat low-res compared to newer models). The complaints about sounds must be from the purists as the engine is not far off any videos I have seen of the train, but yes, they are a bit flat. But, they are NO reason to skip buying this engine (especially in today's sale). It looks great, and is a must to complete the UK Diesels, along with its comfy red carriages in tow (which seem to have mice quiet interiors for a change). Recommended.

The 3D model and physics aren't too bad, but totally ruined by the awful sound effects. Doesn't sound like a Sulzer Type 2 diesel at all (or any other diesel for that matter). Sounds like the effects were created by placing a piece of cardboard between bicycle wheel spokes. If DTG are continuing to re-release the former IHH kit, the least they can do is enlist Armstrong Powerhouse to overhaul the appalling sounds which sadly afflicted most of that range.
