First of all; the main reason I bought this, because it will never be included in the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection Vol.2 (release date: May 16th, 2025), which I find it a little strange. But I am not working at SNK nor Capcom as the decision maker, so I just go on with the flow, drifting like any other gamers.
I love Capcom games, so yeah!
I also adore SNK games, so yeah!!
And now SNK VS Capcom battling each other with their fighters from each of the popular games? With SNK's signature King Of Fighters pixel sprites 2D Raster Imagery visual style? For real?!
Ryu unpredictably unleashing multiple deadly combos on Kyo, Iori goes berserk against Chun Li, Mai Shiranui goes fiery rampage towards Megaman Zero.
Those were only my dream matches within my wildest imaginations, far way back then, before this game even exist yet.
But now I can make all of those really happen again! Finally!!
Happen again?! Well, I played this fighting gem before. Back on July 24th, 2003. Both at the arcades and also gaming console at home. Was released only for PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
Visualwise, I love it!
Gameplaywise, a bit stiff but tolerable...
Soundtrackwise, an absurd mess that had strayed far away, comparing from their previous catchy tunes of memorable fighting stages.
Rosterwise, still felt heavily incomplete. Badly limited.
Hopefully there will be SVC with more characters in the near future. Say, 50-50 most famous fighters, from both sides. Yeah, one can only hope for that, haha.
But who knows, right?!
Now I'm totally hyped for Capcom Fighting Collection Part 2!
