SVC Chaos is an absolutely odd game. Created by SNK right after their FIRST bankrupsy, (Yes, they got bankrupted and turned into pachinko businesses twice over. The SNK story is absurd.) SVC chaos is an odd, dark crossover fighter which involves you playing as classic Capcom or SNK characters and duking it out, with stock punch sound effects and weird special moves that just don't feel right, along with specials that do random amounts of damage. Okay, let me point out the first elephant in the room:
Yes, this game is considered a "Kusoge"
For those not in the know, Kusoge is a blanket term in the japanese fighting game scene which roughly translates to "Shit Game". And yes, this is one. And yet... I don't hate it. It's kinda almost sorta fun. And yes, that isn't high praise. However, it includes some odd picks that I really appreciate: Red Arremer from Ghosts n' Goblins is just one example, but it also has Mars People from Metal Slug, which is the only time a Metal Slug character has appeared in an SNK fighting game, to my knowledge. You also get several classics, such as Terry Bogard, Terry Bogard but japanese (Kyo Kusonagi), a dark fucked up version of Kyo Kusonagi (Iori), the guy Terry threw off of a building (Geese Howard), Ryu, a dark fucked up version of Ryu (Akuma), a dark fucked up version of a dark fucked up version of Ryu (Shin Akuma), and the main character of the latter Mega Man games (Zero). They play as you might expect, but Zero is actually in his MMZ form, which allows him to use Cyber Elves (Yes, that is what they are called) in his attacks. As a huge fan of those games, it was a pleasant surprise. And in typical Zero fassion, he is unfathomably overpowered and far and away the best character behind maybe Geese Howard, who is also usually the best character in the games he's in. However, I found myself in love with Mars People, they are such a goofy character, with his specials allowing him to summon out waves of other Mars People(s?) to do his bidding, but rushing into other enemies. They all feel weird, but are still a strange breed of fun to play as. This is something rather frustrating about this game: It's impossible for me to describe the feel, but it just doesn't feel right. It almost makes me feel like i'm playing an old MUGEN that got turned into an official game. The roster is pretty good, and the game is just kinda mediocre IMO, so why do so many hate this? Allow me to get onto the second elephant in the room: The man-children, who wouldn't have bought this game in the first place, are OUTRAGED because a few pixels got covered up over a character's breasts. It's funny. It's obviously manufactured outrage, but it's sad that they have to negatively effect a game with their goonery. Odd how they always complain about hentai with children being censored, saying that it's "just pixels", but then they get angry when those "just pixels" don't allow them to get hard. Funny, eh? Well, it's a shame, but the game isn't amazing to begin with. If you like SNK, or the history of fighting games, give it a whirl. It's an oddball, but pretty fun. The biggest downside is that the singleplayer arcade ladder is just really hard for me. I was fine with KOF 98, but this one is just insanely challenging.

Do not listen to any negative reviews of this game, those are from fake fighting game fans. This is the best game ever made and its one of the echelons of fighting game history. This game allows you to turn Hugo into female Hugo who is just Hugo's sprite but with boobs, the future really is now SNK (12/10).
