I really like this loco in real and this was very good to have. Having gears gives you more feel for the loco so 10/10.

Wonderful surprise, a cracking little DMU thats as full of character as it is value! The best thing is they actually nailed the proper manual gear change, the revs dropping and rising as they should as you do so, making a much more interesting driving experience. What else can I say, even at full price, this is only a fiver (£5) so you can even go and buy the Armstrong Powerhouse soundpack for it and it'll still be cheaper than the much worse class 105!

Like some others on here, this was my first DLC as these were regular units on my local line when I were a lad and I often sat behind the driver pretending I was driving the train and watching the driver change gears, notching up/down and braking. This DLC replicates all that you have seen the driver do and I find this to be a very enjoyable unit to drive. It is quick drive enabled so you can drive it on any route imaginable.

It's good, but basically no different from the old version except is has a cab light and different liveries. The sounds and physics still SUCK. Get the Armstrong Powerhouse pack if you buy this. Please, for the love of god, don't put yourself through the stock sounds and physics...

This is an old model, so the quality isn't exactly top notch but it is quite pleasant for me to drive, the interior "rattling" of the cab gives more asthetic to the drive and so on. I also have the Strathclyde, Regional Railways and W&T 101's which are pretty much the same except for W&T's 'improved' 101, which actually is slightly improved with notch indicators and fixing the buzzer 'issue'. There is also an extra buffet wagon for the BR Blue livery that isn't present in the QD presets, which is odd but you can make the preset yourself anyway.

This train is really nice and detailed, and really fun to drive, my only issue is I'm not able to look fully up, left or right which i think should be changed.

this overall, a decent pack. the textures look good and it is fun to drive. The sounds are fine as well. There are just a couple of small problems, namely the way the engine and gearbox work. As you may know, the early BR DMUs have a manual transmission with a tachometer [rev counter] that tells you when to change gear, when it reaches the mark with "UP" on it, you change up a gear and the revs will drop again until you need to change up another gear. the gearbox on this behaves more like a diesel hydraulic, when you change up a gear, the revs don't actually change, the train just keeps accelerating. still, it's a good addon and, I even got the Regional Railways one with it too!

Ah, a true TS Essential. Usually if a piece of DLC is less than £10, I suggest get it & this is no exception. It's great value for money and a true bargain in a Sale, but what do you get? Two liveries, countless variations of trains (2-car, 3-car, 4-car, etc.), custom destination boards and three scenarios. However, that's not really the point. This pack is pretty much essential if you play TS, or like to create your own scenarios or download content for the Steam Workshop - many, many scenarios use these and they are just fantastic. The liveries are nicely done (especially the Blue & Grey), it comes with a ton of features and is... challenging to drive. If you're not used to gears on a loco, bear that in mind - you'll learn it eventually though and to be honest, it's more difficult for me on the Class 03 but that's another story. My Dad say's these DMU's used to be his favourite - he'd travel on them on the way home from School and would alway's try and bag the seat where you could see the Driver at the Controls & the line ahead. After using this pack quite a lot, it's easy to see why he liked them. And for the price, I suggest that you don't wait for the Sales to get this. Get it none-the-less - it's just fantastic!

My first dlc, use to regular on all lines, I use to ride on them as a kid, so I have soft spot for them,,, Good value for money... If you own a line with a lot of station's on, they're really good fun in QD.

If you want any Class 101, your best option is probably Weardale & Teesdale. Or TSW. If you want the liveries, this is affordable. The blue is a little dark and green. The duotone is really nice. If you consider the scenarios, they are easy, but not entirely trivial. Interesting, if you like. The ECML is badly dated by now. If you want the experience, it drives nice. The cab view is obviously unobstructed. Had a lot of fun taking these on a tour on regional routes, such as Edinburgh-Glasgow, Settle-Carlisle, Bristol-Exeter or Portsmouth. It's essentially the same as any other family member (105, 121) so if you get any of those in a bundle, you have it. The RPM moves slow in this version, but you can switch gears under power, if you don't care.
