The heavy haulage turbo charged PRR Alco RS-11 road switcher is now available for Train Simulator.Built between 1956 and 1964, the RS-11 was Alco’s answer to the EMD GP9 and was fitted with a turbo charger and had a heavy pulling power of 1,800hp, making it an ideal heavy freighter but also saw some passenger service in its lifetime.

Sounds great, looks great, and spews smoke, just like an ALCO. This is the first locomotive I have driven that has an independent brake that feels appropriately powerful, it is very useful when switching.

Definitely recommended. Sounds are a bit unusual at first, very different from what other trains have. The low tone traction motor sound is just lovely, brings back the mid-1900s. The scenarios take you to places over Horseshoe Curve that you typically don't visit, it's good exploration. In contrast to casual quick drives, they are generally about yard and local work. It's one of the few engines that are good for descents. Seems to have one useful QD consist, but of course you can add some. Physics are a bit more realistic, I managed to topple the train on an unexpected switch (QD from Johnstown to Altoona).

This is a FANTASTIC model with GREAT SOUNDS The sounds fit this ole' classic perfectly, and they have simulated the classic ALCO smoke accurately. A MUST HAVE for all American Railfans!!!!!

This is NOT the same as the Lehigh Valley model that was released previously by VR, though it is still available. It IS, however, the same quality and overall a decent locomotive. It has aged relatively well, though I don't think it's worth 20 bucks. You will only get the one locomotive, and nothing more. It's high time the price was dropped on it. Buy on sale.

If you like the PRR and you have Horseshoe Curve, you need this train. Pulls great, runs great, sounds great. Not crazy over the bell, but that's a personal preference I guess. The horn is my favorite in the game. This thing smokes more than Willie Nelson (if you catch my drift), just like the real alcos did. The RS11 was also used on the LIRR, so I'm hoping they make a route out here so they can make a reskin of this in LIRR blue and orange
