Great loco, I drive this a lot. I have plenty of freight consits made up for double headed duties for this engine. Spend a lot of time driving it about. Love the sounds. Great vailue at under £6

This loco almost completes my collection of favourite British diesels. I'm just getting to know it but so far I'm VERY impressed, very realistic cab & controls, & the sounds are great.

A great locomotive to drive and once you master the startup and braking system of the 57 it's easy enough to drive with the HUD. The sliding newspaper can get a bit irritating after a while and you can actually knock it off the top of the drivers console with a quick flick of the mouse to the right. The horn and sliding windows are a nice addition too.

Great but.....
The sounds arent the best so you are best buying the AP Sound pack for this train because you will get the full package pretty much. It sounds ok but could be better.

A very nice looking loco with excellent sounds an realistic delay of engine rev-up, can be slightly difficult to learn the starting procedure, but once you have mastered it, not a problem. Well worth the investment. I am using it a lot

It may be old but it's an absolute classic, and still one of the best freight locos available for TS. Made by Oovee and far better than any DTG loco. In fact, as it comes, it's on par with the better DTG locos that have an AP Enhancement Pack.

A rather nice add-on and the current price is fair at $7.99 but most sales drop it by 40-50% off. If you own the Rail Tours version then there's very little to add as both are the same except with a different livery and one having coaches and the other having freight wagons. Included scenarios are standard only but also make us of the procedure required for starting trains on upward grades and some shunting. Default sounds are nice and the throttle/brakes require a few seconds to respond to changes but also included are startup and shut down procedures for those that want a little extra.
Well worth it and for those that are interested in getting more out of this loco there is a sound pack available from Armstrong Powerhouse.

Nice loco with a good cab and a more complex control system than usual for a TSC DE.
Sadly yet again let down by the poor quality & faulty scenarios which is DTGs signature tune.
With "[FL 01] Morning Containment" there are temporary speed restrictions which are not listed on the associated boards which cause unexpected OSS emergency stops. The speed restrictions also make it impossible to arrive at timed stops within the posted window and automatic failure of the scenario.
Further investigation shows that the scenario specific temp restriction boards no longer work correctly in 2024: they do not show a speed and they cause the preceding main signal to be fixed at red. There is also a 20 mph OSS grid pair on the track before the temp restriction with no markers or warning that causes an emergency stop!!! Fixed but it took a lot of frustrating investigation and testing.

OK, time to review this one.
The Freightliner Class 57 is pretty much te same loco as the Rail Tours Class 57 when it comes to features and quality. Even their manuals are almost the same. This one hauls freight coaches, has a different livery and scenarios for the Edinburgh-Glasgow route. Here's a pro/con summary:
+ visuals and sounds are OK. the addon is quite old but I've seen newer addons that looked worse
+ cold start! and some other features like a power restriction until the engine warms up or faults popping up when the driver isn't operating the loco properly
+ instrument and cab lights
+ the included scenarios are long enough. there are also plenty of workshop scenarios
+ it seems that the base price has dropped by a half, I would like to see that happen with many more older addons
- you are only able to look around the cab to some extent. this means for sure that the back side of the cab has not been implemented at all.
