good remake, but I miss the wall bumping :)

been playing since it was called exile:escape from the pit, will always love these games! its an old school turn based RPG and it'll always have a special place to me.

Completed my second game from Spider. This is an incredible game which i enjoyed it more than i think i would. There are more than one ending which is satisfying when you completed them all. If you can get past the graphics, this game will throw you into the fantasy world which i know will appeal alot to older gamers. I have only met 1 bug in this game which is not game breaking. The story started out simple enough with you and some companions are thrown into this underground cavern and you need to learn how to survive in this new world. Lucky for you there are already others being thrown down which they will show you the rope on how to begin your life in Avenum. You will start from a rookie till you become a TRUE HERO. I highly recommend this game to RPG lovers. Rate it 9/10 for me.

Good game but kind of a slog. By the end of the game, enemies resist like 80% of all of your damage and battles just take a long time. Spellcasters end up being kings of damage as they can unleash large and powerful spells. Really the end game just became me spamming the same 2-3 spells every fight just to get it over with. I think overall though I enjoyed it.

Great rpg adventure from the past, remastered and made to work on modern systems. If you like a good story and adventure, you should check out this series and the other spiderweb software titles.

This is a great game to scratch your CRPG itch. It doesn't require too much brain power and it's very cozy. A charming graphics style with a compelling story supported by mostly utilitarian dialogue. The focus here is on dungeon diving, going on quests, learning spells, killing enemies, etc. The story is definitely interesting, and the factions have cool ideas going on with characters that feel unique. I really liked the dangerous feeling world that the game drops you in. The game tells you that you're going into a dangerous and hostile world, then you feel it. You need to think about what your best course of action is going to be to overcome the odds: searching for easier quests to do so you can tackle the harder ones, or searching for a sage who can teach you a spell important to stand a chance at a certain dungeon. I really enjoyed this "make your own way" structure of the game. I beat the game on Hard but I don't really recommend it. Difficulty in this game is basically just scaling the enemies' health and damage, which is a lame cop out form of difficulty to me. It can make the combat tedious and overly time consuming. I will be playing more Spiderweb Software games but on the Normal difficulty. Overall this was a great game to get immersed into and relax with. You're not going to get overwhelmed with pages of stats and abilities, but you aren't gonna be allowed to sleep at the wheel either. Recommend to people who love CRPGs and/or want to scratch that fantasy, old-school CRPG itch. Spiderweb seems to have plenty of games for this purpose.
