For the price it is and for the train it is, I would recomend it if you want a affordable high-speed train. Only thing is that it is only quick drive but I guess for the price I can see why. It does sometimes go good with the Munich-Garmisch route considering that it is a high speed line and the ICE TD runs through it.

there is no career drive,and yet it's say in game that we have career drive,when you try to play you get only quick drive.that's my commplain.on the other side ts game it's the best,ts2016.

Nice Addon but a few issues. 1-The gangways between cars you can see through to the tracks. 2- No Scenarios Over all it is nice. I got it for like $2.50 when itwas on sale & it was worth it.

The AFB is extremely fiddly. You have to exactly follow the steps from the manual, and even then I find it only works every second time. This AFB implementation does not work well with controllers or the simplified controls, it will break if an emergency brake is triggered and it will sometimes slightly overshoot the target, due to how it manages power. I usually have to play scenarios that have LZB segments in their routes at least twice. Once to know where the invisible (or sometimes nearly invisible, just too late without LZB) LZB speed changes are and then a second time to actually play the scenario properly. I think this does not support LZB - at least I couldn't figure out how to activate it (and the manual does not mention it either). This leads to some frustration when first playing a scenario, since you just got an emergency brake triggered and now you'll have to fiddle around with AFB again to get everything back up... Hopefully we'll get a fixed ICE 1 at some point, maybe a new DLC for the refurbished ones, so we get to pay twice...

This is my favourite German High Speed Train of them all and I really love to drive this one on most German routes that I own. I also got this one in a bundle deal. I wish the horn would loop longer rather than just a burst of a tone but I can live with this. I can get the 14 car train up to about 260km which is acceptable as this iconic train was new in 1991 to DB and one of the first high speed trains to run in Germany. Recommended for all that like these trains. It is not a bad add on but I would like to see a super detailed updated pack with more functions in the cab. Just like the one in TSW 4.

This addon is getting a bit old now, but it's still a good one, especially for the price that is lower than most newer locos. It lacks SIFA, PZB and LZB systems which are common in more modern german loco addons. The way AFB works is really strange. But despite those drawbacks I enjoyed it a lot. Although it's not mentioned in the description, you do get scenarios with the loco, 4 career and 8 standard ones for the Ruhr-Sieg line. I haven't found any problems with the passenger view, maybe it has been fixed.

Alongside the Chinese Railways CRH380D, the ICE 1 was one of the first high-speed electric trains I picked to go into my growing library of DLC, and let's just say that I wasn't disappointed! From what I can tell, a lot of love was put into this addon, both inside and out - however, the near-complete lack of sound in the passenger view is somewhat odd, even though the real ICE 1 was designed to be very quiet. It seems very strange that you can't hear any internal sounds at all! This train is also very fast, and gathers speed at a phenomenal rate. From what I gather, this appears to be very accurate to the real train's attributes. I often use this train to 'tour' new routes that I purchase, so that I can explore them prior to trying out the scenarios for that route! A welcome inclusion is passenger views in both the Standard and First Class coaches, something which even now many DLC trains fail to include. In conclusion, for a price of just £4.99, the ICE 1 is a definite pick if you want an excellent DLC train at a budget price. I highly recommend this train! 8/10

The high speed train is good for it's purpose. However, it cannot reach it's maximum 280kph limit and the cab view goes wonky all over the place after a certain amount of time, so I will be taking 2 marks off for that. Other than that, I will still recommend this high speed train. A solid 8/10 from myself.

This one was one of the first high-speed trains what I wanted back when I bought Train Simulator 2012, it is an extremely early version, misses a lot of functionality what the new versions contain, I just really wish it would be fixed so that all LZB, PZB and SIFA functions would be functional on this train, without these functions you can't really do much with the train other then just driving it in casual mode. I don't recommend buying it unless it is on sale though. I rate this DLC 6 out of 10. Protip, if you want 300km/h speed, set the two engines to single two vehicle consist and you will fly like some Airbus A380.
