Good DLC, and I paid full price for it. The model itself is fantastic, very good looking loco. Lots of different liveries. Interior looks good as well though I wish there was a little more switch flipping or knob turning to do other than just the power and various brake handles, sander, etc. Still, a very good loco. Drives well, handles about the way you would expect one to handle based on my experience with other locos in the game, as I'm not a real life engineer. As these were rated for 1,750 horsepower with decent tractive effort, it does take a bit of straining to get a heavy load moving as you'd expect. An ES44AC this is not. So be careful not to try to pull too much with it as it'll take a while to get up to speed, and even longer to stop it unless you got plenty of units helping. My only complaints with it is the fact that it doesn't show the weather effects on the windows. For example, it can be storming while you are going full speed, but not a drop of water appears on the windows and, as a result, the working wipers have nothing to wipe off and you can still see clearly. That is a disappointment with the DLC in terms of immersion/realism. The other complaint is that sitting at idle or moving at slow speeds with low throttle, you'll hear a constant scratching sound. I can only imagine it's supposed to be the sound of air being released by the brake system, but on my PC it sounds distorted, like static bursts rather than a hiss or whoosh you get on other trains. All in all, a very good DLC if you like classic locos and some of the classic brands included in the liveries. Highly recommended despite the 2 flaws I mentioned.

Probably the best thing dovetail ever made. However, I wish they had updated the cab controls to match the ones on the GP-9 from the soldier summit route. also, is their a cab light on this loco because I can't see the controls when I drive at night.

Well worth it in a sale for the liveries you get, I mainly use these as Ai trains but they still get the job done for scenarios.

The base pack is pretty good. You get a lot of skins in the base pack, not to mention the huge variety available from Railworks America. The CJ sound pack gives these things an entirely new life, as the base sounds included in this pack are lackluster at best. With that sound upgrade, I have used these locomotives in nearly every American and Canadian route available.

I'm really late to the party, but if you're pondering a cheap add on I like it. The outside looks great, sounds are nice. The cab is BUTT ugly I can't find the cab light switch, however the handling seems spot on! If you want it for Feather River, visibility is poor, but better that the GP 30. This is the first one I've seen where the old Amperes meter works correctly instead of starting top center like the F7. In short, it's ugly, but it's right.

This is a great add-on. The horn is too quiet when heard from a distance(and unrealistic of course). The overall engine looks fine. Many liveries of current and past railroads like CN, BNSF, SP and CNW. Includes a scenario for Cajon Pass along with free roam. The train used to have a CNW freight yard in Chicago but not anymore. Still good add-on!

Very nice loco, very useful for shortline action and backdated scenarios! This is a must have!

This a must have for Train Simmers, any time and anywhere. This model is quite old now, but it's still being used to some extent, and it actually isn't that bad for it's age. The horn being the same on all the units, I can forgive that. That doesn't really bother me. The M3/M5 was a pretty common horn on F-units and early Geeps in the 1950s. It's not appropriate for every roadname, but appropriate for most. And if there's any roadnames that you want but don't see here, go check out Railworks America. They've done reskins for other roadnames that weren't included in this pack, like Grand Trunk Western and Illinois Central. Literally my only gripe is that the number font on the CNW unit is too big, and that's just a personal, rivet counting issue. Yes, I absolutely recommend this! There's something for everybody in this pack.

The GP9 pack is truly a pack to get with the game. It comes with a Variaty of 21 locos in different liveries. This is an amazing pack, but there are some things i wish could be included. I wish that there were at least 3 different freight cars per locomotive, a new horn, and more scenarios to come with the engines. Despite this, its still a nice pack to buy.

So, I bought this pack during the sale, and I was thinking: 'well, it doens't come with any scenarios for any routes I own. Oh, well, I might as well get it to say I have it.' Well, I went to the steam workshop, and there are many free scenarios for this engine. As for the pack itself: two words- pretty cool Pros: Really nice assortment of paint schemes, so that this unit will feel at home on any route! Nice cab , with realistic controls and setup. Lots of different configuration depending on what paint scheme is applied (various objects such as bell placement, dynamic brake "fins", lights, and winterization boxes on some of the cooling fans. Cons: The engine sounds themselves are directly aliased to the Default EMD F7, which is slightly dissapointing. But, needless to say, this can be changed relatively easily, so this doesn't really take away from the engine itself. (Yes, I know both the GP9 and the F7 had EMD 567 prime movers, so the engines would sound slightly similar. But I am talking about things like horns, bells, brake and cab sounds.) To the question of whether or not I would recommend this pack: THAT WOULD BE A BIG FAT YES! Thumbs up! -Tra1nnut Owner of JHM Studios (group name: TMMAR Studios)
