This locomotive looks and sounds good. Handles in a realistic manner. This Add-On gives you BNSF in two different paint schemes along with weathered and clean condition, that's 4 different looking models, plus a CN and NS model for a total of six different models! Also not mentioned in the description is that this comes with a Woodchip Gondola with three different paint schemes. BN, Blue, and Black. So really, all three road names are covered by these gondola paint jobs. BNSF in their older BN scheme, CN has some of their cars Blue from when they acquired BC Rail, and NS favors cars in Black. So if you are interested in the Dash 9 this has three road names that interact with each other and usually run trains with the each others locomotives added to the consist as pooled power or 'run-through arrangements' to be delivered along the route or at the end destination. Not a bad deal for the price!

The engine/Liveries are amazing just one thing,I don't know to install horn mods for these engines i'm a lot of a noobie changing the horns for the engines.
If someone would help me with that i would very appreciate it.
Otherwise,Amazing add-on!

The NS C40-9W has a nice RS3L. Even if the CN and NS C44-9Ws weren't supposed to be in the pack, At least you can save some more for the Dash 9's.
Fact: The AC4400CW and AC6000CW are replicas of the C44-9W.
Fact 2: The ES44AC/DC/C4 is a replica of the C44, but, with a different horn (K5HL/K5HLA/K5HLL), Different engine, and an extra generator hump.
Also, the BNSF C44-9W's is supposed to have a Nathan K3LA, not a Leslie RS3L.
I suggest that you get this pack. You can get a Warbonnet C44-9W, an H2 C44-9W, an NS C40-9W, and a CN C44-9W.

I highly recommend this DLC for the average railfan, it has a decent amount of paint schemes like Warbonnets, BNSF H2 Scheme, Norfolk Southern, and Canadian National.
The base DLC has some flaws, but there's a ton of mods out there on the internet that improve this DLC, such as sounds, texture upgrades, and even new paint schemes like the original Santa Fe.

On sale, and ONLY on sale, I would say pick it up. Even then, I still firmly believe this pack should be free with the game at this point. Its over 12 years old, and its painfully obvious. Stock, the sounds are not great and the texturing is very dated. You CAN improve these with a Searchlight Sims enhancement pack as well as the UTS update, but they can only do so much with these before really needing a new base model to use. On sale, this pack is $4.50 which is passable.

This negative review comes with a strong caveat for content creators and those using the content. This dlc is very useful in creating AI trains to run along side scenarios for many of the routes we have in TS from North America. Even today Dash 9's can be seen very frequently. It goes on sale for a very low price and for THAT reason it's worth picking up. And of course that means if you download a lot from the workshop, you may want it for that reason as well.
+ This pack delivers several liveried Dash 9's (Not only BNSF as the title would imply) for your scenario creations.
+ For their age, they look pretty decent. They even sound decent.
- Broken career scenario (timeline)
- Screwy spongy couplers that look and act strange and making driving on mountain passes difficult.
- Brakes work, but indicators on the HUD don't.
- The locomotive will slip it's wheels far too easily when using dynamic brakes. Fortunately this isn't an issue with power, but coming down a hill while trying to play realistically (not just dragging air brakes) is a dicey event between spongy couplers and messed up dynamics.
Yes, it's old, but there's no excuse these simple things have been fixed. There is a patch on a third party website to help fix the coupler issue.
Those are my most serious complaints. As I said above, if you're a content creator, it's a very useful asset as it delivers Dash 9 locomotives in a variety of liveries (Norfolk Southern, BNSF Orange, BNSF red bonnet and Canadian National). There are also two Standard scenarios also on Cajon Pass. I assume that, being standard, they probably work fine but I've not played them. Each of the three scenarios uses a different locomotive livery. The only one left unrepresented is Canadian National.
There are no achievements associated with this pack.

The locomotives look really good on the OUTSIDE but like with anything, looks can be deceiving. The add-on was released back in the good old RSC days or 2012 to be exact. It has NOT aged well compared to other DLCs that have been released in the last couple of years from Dovetail.
The Good:
You get the Dash 9-44CW in 4 liveries and some scenarios. Thats as good as it gets.
The problems with the add-on:
-Horrible down hill mechanics. Dynamic brakes DO NOT WORK AT ALL. You will get horrible wheel slip, even when the train is going slow. Dynamic brakes also can cause derailment, extremely buggy.
-Stretchy couplers. When you start a train with a Dash 9 as the lead unit, the couplers will stretch and it will look like they are floating in mid air.
-No interior lighting.
-No step lighting.
-Not very bright headlights and they do not illuminate the track. They do not have the effect where you can see the headlights from a distance like on the F59PHI, P42DC or EMD SD60M.
-Incorrect horn.
-Incorrect bell. Same bell as the BNSF SD70MAC.
-Rear headlights turns when you set the front headlights on.
Overrall:
The DLChasn't aged well. The outside is great but it is very buggy to run and lacks key details. Dovetail has a horrible track record for updating/fixing a lot of the older DLC that was developed by RSC so dont expect this on to get fixed.

I love this engine. It's my favorite engine ever. But there are some bad qualities. Neither the hornor bell are good at ALL and the numbering is wrong on the CN and NS locos. Otherwise, these are awesome. The NS ones Work great on the Horseshoe Curve route (check out my scenarios, for 2 of them use Dash-9s) and the engine sounds are great. They also have different liveries on Railworks America, including NS Horsehead, NS Unibrow, NS Primer (the colors they were in before they were delivered), CN, and BC Rail. Those are only the ones I downloaded! Overall, they are really good.

The loco looks good, but if you're planning on using this loco going DOWN a steep grade like Marias Pass or Cajon Pass, be warned: the force of the dynamic brakes is too powerful and will automatically trigger wheelslip, even at low speed. This can also cause derailments on long freights (happened to me several times). Also the couplings stretch too much so that when you start the loco on a heavy freight the couplers look like they float. The couplers create issues when using the locos to simulate DPU operations with locos in different parts of the train because due to the distance the couplers are allowed to stretch the loco can clip into the freight car in front of it and if too much throttle is used or the slack isn't taken up by the front end properly it can lift the rear car off the rails. This doesn't trigger a derail unless you try to uncouple the unit from the car (again this has happened to me).
I'd personally recommend not using this unit as your driveable loco in mountainous territory because of the dynamic brake issue and the couplers or very much at night due to lack of cab lights (it's an old model - 2012 or thereabouts and cab lighting didn't become a thing until about 2014). Also not recommended for helper service either mid- or end of train. Keep it as your 2nd-3rd engine in your lead consist.
I'm left disappointed by the scenarios due to a lack of real-life practices and situations, but then again scenarios included in routes and loco dlc usually suck anyway so par for the course.
Overall it looks nice outwardly but internally it hasn't aged well in my opinion - and I'm the guy who usually sticks up for DTG/RSC.

It's a great locomotive. I got it last year in the Thanksgiving sale. ALthough the sounds, horn and bell are the exact same as the Kuju ES44AC. You get several different liveries(BNSF, BNSF dirty, BNSF Warbonnet, BNSF Warbonnet dirty, CN and NS) along with four scenarios(1 free roam, 2 standard and 1 career). The sounds may not be the best but other than that it's a nice add-on.
