Ah, tornado... A must-have for steam locomotive fans! Although the sounds aren't great, the attention to detail is great! it's also ideal for a fast express run. it also looks better if you buy the express blue add-on livery from the marketplace. overall, its a 9/10.

It's great to have Tornado in your train collection. but please buy the Steam Sounds Supreme Tornado pack to make this old DLC good again.

Great loco, however The whistle is incorrect. I also wondered why the A1 trust headboard isn't at the top of the face but I can live with that. This loco is great with the steam sounds supreme pack because it gives the smoke and both whistles an upgrade and moves the headboard to the top bracket. Very well worth it.

This loco is definitely capable of it's express passenger duty capability, however it's unable to reach it's original design speed of 100mph and will only reach that speed when going downhill. It's fuel consumption is a bit high, although the loco's class is originally designed to pull more than Flying Scotsman and Mallard and still be capable of express pass use, so I shouldn't be too harsh on that considering it's slightly larger quick drive consist. So I will unfortunately have to deduct 2 marks off for that. Other than that, I would still recommend this great steam engine. A solid 8/10 from myself.

This loco is a great addon, but there are nooks and crannies that need to be fixed. So this loco is really old, it dates back to the time when we thought the great western mainline was a good route. And also, it's part of the 'classics' range. It's code words for: i hate making updates for crappy dlc. Now thankfully, this is a DECENT loco, but the steam is wrong (what is this, the titanic's funnel?) and the lack of scenarios ANYWHERE is a massive letdown. There are two livery packs, but they don't come with scenarios either. The screenshots were taken on the east coast mainline, (old version) though the period is totally wrong. So don't ask me why they made a bundle with that thing. The reason I'm recommending this is because it's just nice to have and it's the only A1 around.

powerful loco, such a good looking engine too, but there's a shadow near the wheel i dont know what that is but the other engine dont have that kind of shadow tho.

A good addition for those who prefer modern image trains and those who like steam locomotives. The locomotive is well rendered, looks the part an is a very capable workhorse. She can keep to 90mph on the level with 12 Mk1s quite comfortably and I have had her up to 101mph, although that was downhill towards King's Cross. Unlike some steam locomotives I possess, such as the Fowler '4F' and the Stanier 'Jubilee' she can keep speed up hill like the 'A4's' and is good at holding pressure when the injectors are on. Recommended purchase.

This is an excellent steam loco addon, although now starting to age a little. This model does not have advanced controls, only the standard ones. The loco performs exactly as it should do according to the specifications of the real A1 Class locos; i.e. it steams well (the A1 class were one of the very best at generating steam and maintaining pressure), it will cruise under load on the level at 90mph when handled correctly and is capable of reaching 100mph. As might be expected from such a powerful loco, hill-climbing is good for a steam loco. Footplate sounds are fair for a TS model, though not spectacular and the chime whistle sound isn't correct (you also get a 'standard' whistle at 'B'), but these are minor details. However like most of the older models, it isn't possible to hear the AWS warning horn when your head is outside the cab window, so you have to stay very alert. It would be nice to see that feature updated. The exhaust is as good as most TS models and better than some more recent locos, though no TS steam locos get the exhaust absolutely right. You only get the one loco with this pack (together with several coaches), though two reskins of the Tornado (BR green and BR Blue) are available elsewhere separately. However I would have liked to have had some of the original class represented as well. It is still one of the best non-advanced control models.
