Okay. Sherman Hill is a GREAT route. Has some cool Trainz 2019 Freeware lookin' coal gondolas which is awesome. Some of the stock I have to say aren't very unique. The 2-Bay cement hoppers are cool and clean though. The UP Boxcars that are in the route are not at all cool. They look far too plain and just have the UP logo on them as if the logo was enough to justify them being there. TSW 2's Sherman Hill route has WAY BETTER boxcars than this TSC Sherman Hill route. The route itself is nice and long, making it one of the best Union Pacific routes for frequent UP DP freight run scenarios. Hell, this is even perfect for other railroads that UP works with, except BSNF since BNSF and UP have beef with each other. One thing I love about this route is how you get 4 locomotives with this route, which is usually rare when it comes to TSC routes. You get 4 UP Locomotives. A cute SW10 switcher, An ugly looking, but cool SD70M, An ES44AC (as always), and An SD40-2. Get the Livonia Subdivision with this route and you can have even more varied UP freight runs. Combine both of these routes with ABStudios Wellcars and you can have even MORE realistic UP freight runs. I highly recommend this route! AND AND AND.... It has the SD60M (The UP "Triclops") as a bonus. I advise that anyone looking for enhancements purchase all of the audio enhancements from Searchlight Simulations' website after getting this route if you want to listen to the real deal.

2.5/5 The locos are ok, maybe the SD60M not so much... There are some minor bugs, but noticeable My favorite loco is the SD70M plus the Searchlight Simulations EMD 16N-710G3B Enhancement Pack Edit: Ok, there are MAYOR bugs, The more I play, the more bugs I find Trains get separated, hidden Speed Limits, Yard Tracks whit cuts etc i got this route whit the Battle For Sherman Hill Pack, glad i found it at a low price, bc i wouldn't pay the whole price

I'm enjoying all the diesels you get (DLC Steamers also) I would give the DLC a thumbs down over this bug. But I wont, please fix this bug Dovetail the GTELS Introduction Scenario derails one of the Engines cars making it unplayable.

This is a nice route. I recommend it for UP lovers. The ES44AC is very improved. And the SD40-2 has a better horn. So does the ES44AC. It has realistic weather effects. It also has more than one route for each train. I think its going to be in my Top 3 routes at #1. Its the best route ive ever had.

Really a great deal for what you pay for. Pros: - 6 locomotives included (EMD SW10, SD40, SD60M, SD70M, GE C45ACCTE [UP's special ES44s], and the GE 8500 hp GTEL-3 Gas Turbine. - Longer route (65 miles) - Not just 65 miles of plain desert - High speeds (around 70 in some areas, 50-60 in most) - Very beautiful/scenic. Looks like the screenshots shown - timeless. You could drive a GTEL with a short manifest one day, and an SD70 with a unit train of intermodal cars the next, and neither of them would look out of place. - New sounds on the SW10, SD70M, and C45. - Very nice skybox. There are unique settings for a thunderstorm and even a tornado, among others. - Advanced brake script on all locomotives - Includes track three between Laramie and Cheyenne - Includes old-style searchlight signal heads - Includes easy and hard variants of each scenario -The Gas Turbine is really nicely done, the cab is great - In career scenarios, the weather sometimes changes from sunny to cloudy to overcast to stormy over the course of the scenario. Really cool. - While in 'thunderstorm' or 'tornado' weather elements, you can hear thunder rumbling and see lightning flashing. Cons - Stock sounds on SD40 - Horns are questionable on SW10, SD40, SD60, and SD70 :( - The SD60 doesn't have throttle notches, just a slider, which is weird. Also, the cab is sort of lacking, it just feels empty - No quick drive for track 3, but you can make one easily - The double-stack intermodal cars are flat and unrealistic - Some of the Career scenarios for the GTEL are unfinished if that makes sense. One scenario is listed as 'challenging' and all you do is reverse down a siding, grab some cars, and pull back out. You don't even drive on the mainline. Some others are full of iffy grammar, and some words are not translated (to English at least) all the way. - People who are unaccustomed to American routes might find it a bit strange to drive on, relying on you to remember siding speeds, crossover speeds, etc Notes: 1. Some sidings or crossovers do not have individual speed posts, as in real life. It is up to you to decrease your train's speed safely to cross the point/switch. 2. Check your signals every time you pass one. This is not the BNSF Hi-Line where there are 3-mile signal blocks. This is a busy route with lots and lots of traffic. The signals can go from a highball to flashing red in a matter of minutes. This route will reward you if you keep on your toes. 3. How do I know it includes the SD60M and GTEL packs? https://steamdb.info/app/208286/ 4. It feels more rewarding the more realistically you drive it. Don't just slam the throttle into notch 8, ease it into notch two, dump the train brakes, and let the engines do their thing. If you are accelerating too fast in a low notch, apply the loco brake a bit. If you can't make it up a hill, take the train in two sections, or get some helpers. Overall score: 8/10 Would recommend Not just another American freight route Get it on sale if you can

This route came bundled with TS2013 so I got it by defult, I would not have picked it out of choice .... I did have a go at driving it once but I nodded off after about 20 minutes and didnt bother with it again. I cannot condemn a route just because i find it boring, its personal choice not a failing of the DLC, Clearly lots of people like routes like this. If you like driving long freight trains slowly through endless desert then this DLC may be for you.

This route is my favorite Union Pacific route for TS. Running at about 60 miles from Cheyenne to Laramie in Wyoming, the route offer plenty of heavy freight hauling up the grades. An alternate route(via Track #3) runs an additional 9 miles between the two cities with lighter grades. Starting at Cheyenne, you've got a huge yard with sidings, oil refinery and maintenance shops. Heaidng out of Cheyenne Tracks 1, 2, and 3 run side by side a short distance unti Wycon, where a fertilizer plant is situated. Heading up further Tracks 1 and 2 are linked back to #3 via Borie-Cut-off. After that the #3 is isolated from 1 and 2 until Dale. En-route to Dale, challeging grades lie ahead wih the summit of Sherman Hill, the highest area on the Transcontinental RR then it is downhill. Ate Dale Track #3 rejoins 1 and 2 then a short distance ahead #3 diverges back out heading to Laramie via Red Buttes. After Hermosa it is all smooth running through the scenery until Laramie, where another yard is located and a cement plant just outside town on Track #3. Included is 4 engines, a ES44AC, SD70M, SD40-2 and SW10 Switcher #96. Lots of rolling stock in it as well. I recommend this fantastic route!

Yeah, okay, I know what you're thinking: The grasslands of Wyoming? If you're gonna call out Donner Pass for being repetitive and boring, surely you'll hate this one too! Except I don't. Let's check it out. Pros: -Sherman hill is actually NOT boring. Admittedly a good chunk of the reasoning behind that is because you're constantly going at around 40-60, so you're not staring at the same patch of hill forever. PLUS, you can cover the whole route in about an hour. If a route is too long, it can get very tedious, but Sherman Hill is honestly just the right length. -Sherman Hill is also a relatively easy way to get into long-haul freight. Its relatively short distance, along with more or less constant grades makes it really good for beginners. -Locomotive variety is good. The ES44AC and SD70M are really the only two trains that run along this route, so their inclusion is somewhat required. Plus these two locos are seen all over the country. -Sounds stupid to compliment, but the skybox is REALLY good on this route. When you play it, you'll know what i mean. -Scenery is really nice. It does feel varied enough for the location, anyways. This is the only route that I've actually seen with my own eyes, and the feel is SPOT on. -Inclusion of Track 3. -Huge presence on the workshop -Lastly, Laramie and Cheyenne's historic railroad depots are included. While no passenger services go along this route anymore (The last Amtrak service over Sherman Hill was in 1997), the Cheyenne Frontier days train from Denver (pulled by either FEF-3 844 or an F7) does stop at Cheyenne, and historical Pioneer and Overland services could also traverse the hill. Cons: -There are some rocks and grass that are not placed properly and do appear to float. None are terribly close to the track, but it is enough to be noticeable. -Yeah, okay, the fact that its pretty much a straight forward run with no yards or anything between Laramie and Cheyenne does kinda suck, but hey, its only a 60 mile route, what were you expecting? Overall I think this route kinda gets a bad rap just bc it looks like a 'desert', but it really isn't. The speed and length of the route means its really just enough to not get boring. If you want to ease into mountain railroading, you could do a whole lot worse than Sherman Hill. With excellent scenery, wonderful locomotives that you can use on a whole variety of other routes, and a portion of one of the most traversed freight mainlines in the US, I would certainly recommend this route to anyone just getting into North American freight, fans of UP, or anyone in-between!

This route is rather fast, and part of the first transcontinental railway. Its pretty detailed, but the throttle on the EMD SD70M doesn't work, which is a major bummer, the SD70 is one of my favorite engines. I like the new horns on the EMD SD40-2 and the GE ES44AC. Also comes with a SW10 switcher that's pretty descent. Pros: -New Horns. -Very fast and detailed. -Part of the first Transcon, and is easily able to be 2015, or 1950 and every time in between. -Updated Sounds. Awsome. -Inproved Big Boy 4-8-8-4. Cons: -The double-stack cars aren't realistic -Some of the rocks are a little sketchy -Really boring for people with either no attention span, or aren't used to American trains. Over all its a good rout for fans of the Union Pacific Railway. If there was a voting system, I would give it 7.5/10
