Dissapointing honestly, barely any enemy variety, its just the same AI with more HP, the special enemies like Supersoldaten or shotgunners are just bullet sponges that have a different weapon than the regular guys, the AI is just plain bad, the story and characters are really uninteresting so I would at least hope for a fun shooter but the game just doesnt deliver, dont regret buying it so much since i got it on 75% off but I cant recommend
Peace Was Never An Option
'Wolfenstein: The New Order' is a soft reboot of the legendary game series (the Allfather of the FPS genre) set in an alternate history. This time, the Nazis won and conquered the world. Game style might be described as a retrofuturistic totalitarian techno-utopia. But when I think about 'The New Order', a mixture of Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds' and 'The Man in the High Castle' is the closest thing that comes into my mind.
I'll start with the gameplay. Never before has killing Nazi been so cool and so spectacular. Shoot 'em. Stab 'em. Gut 'em. Frag 'em. Burst 'em. Incinerate 'em. Smash 'em. Did I miss anything? Hope not, otherwise BJ won't be happy with me. Shooting's awesome: every firearm feels great and has its balanced recoil. There're 6 types of weaponry, 4 of them are available for dual wielding, which's highly recommended in the high-density Nazi areas: pistol, assault rifle, shotgun, sniper rifle. Every gun (except a knife) has an alternative mode that might be handy based on the situation and might be applied when dual-wielding (but you can't mix weapons for dual-wielding, that'll be fixed in 'The New Colossus' only). In addition to the arsenal, you can open perks that resonate with your play style and will help on your way: stealth, assault, and tactics. No worries, no stupid grind: just kill the Nazis in the specified fancy way and you'll get the perk.
Wolfenstein ≠ Doom. Fancy jumping / running around the arena might give you more trouble than you think (esp. on difficulties higher than medium). Enemies aren't the smartest guys in the room with you, but still they'd try to frag you out, flang you, change cover, and maneuver. But constant camping won't help you either, so... Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
There're 16 chapters (=levels) with combined location size: big and open levels (like a bridge), medium, tight ones (hello, U-boat). Exploration is always helpful, as you can find some upgrades (the same weapon modes) and/or weapons before you might need them (like a silencer or a sniper rifle). Or collectibles, if you wanna get closer to 100% achievements. There're extra activities in some locations that aren't necessary, but they'd tell you more about the world or characters around.
The game's aged visually a bit, but not dramatically. What's more important is how the game's directed. Most of the scenes are staged in a way that you might think you're watching a movie. I mentioned 'Inglourious Basterds' earlier as the game depicts the same thing as the movie does – the absurdism. Of chaos, violence, humor, well everything – sometimes, even the absurd itself. And, what's great about 'The New Order' is the emotional rollercoaster you're riding on when playing and watching all this. You can experience hate, fun, helplessness, rage, kindness, and all that within a few moments. You empathize with the characters on the screen. That's unbelievable and something you don't expect from the shooter at all. The core music's written by the GOAT – Mik Gordon.
If I ever had to choose how I wanna go down, I swear – I'd turn on the 'Ende' he composed.
But what adds to the atmosphere is that devs decided to rewrite some popular tracks in German as if they were created by the Nazis. And that's fookin brilliant!
All right, my dear reader. We've reached the point of no return. If you're reading this, and all the above resonates with you, then you should know the following: [strike]you're the resistance[/strike] buy the game. Full price. If you're struggling: buy it on a discount. Anyway, buy it, seriously. Buy it, and 'The New Colossus'. It's worth every penny. And it gives hope that one day, maybe, we'll see the Wolfenstein III...
Introduction
Wolfenstein: The New Order is an action-adventure, first-person shooter developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks.
Set in an alternate universe where the Nazis won World War II, you play as Captain William "B.J." Blazkowicz, a WWII veteran who comes out of a catatonic state due to a severe head injury after a failed raid on Deathshead's compound.
Pros

Decent looking graphics. They're starting to show their age, but it's nothing too bad.

A good story with interesting characters.

Fast-paced action with solid combat and a wide variety of weapons and enemies.

You get to kill tons of Nazis, which never gets old.

A cool challenge-based perk system that incentivizes players to take different approaches to unlock new upgrades.

Each map is well designed and different, which adds a lot of variety to the game.

A fantastic soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, the same guy who did the music for DOOM 2016.
Cons

Collectibles. I just hate collectibles.
Conclusion
I finally played a game while having fun after a long time. This game is pretty peak! The animations, models, mechanics, menus and optimization is so good! Only downside is that it's locked in 60 FPS, I know that you can unlock it but doing it so causes the game break. Overall still great game. Can't wait to play the 2nd game too.

If you've been on a nazi-killing gaming kick lately for no reason in particular, you need to play Wolfenstein. Coming from World at War, this game makes WaW gameplay feel bland. The gore, gunplay, and stealth are a great gameloop. Wolfenstein makes pulping nazi scum feel fun and rewarding

Given the current state of the world (and America in particular), this has been a very cathartic game to play on the 4th of July.
