Only real faults that this game has are its frequent crashes on lower end computers and the fact that there aren't enough nazis to shoot. An almost perfect game, 100% worth the money.

Finally checked this off the bucket list after demoing the beta at PAX in 2013...
This game kicks major ass. For a series revival, this was absolutely stellar.

This game has Nazi killing in the thousands, Jewish iron man armor, moon bases and giant mechs. What is there not to love? If you’re not already sold; here’s some stuff to sell you.
-You kill ALOT of nazis
-You go to the moon
-Mick Gordon Score
-Dieselpunk aesthetic
-It remains tasteful doesn’t down play what happened despite being fantastical
-an actually fun lockpicking minigame
-satisfying combat
-there’s a cast of lovable characters.
-one of the resistance members is literally Jimmy Hendrix

Wolfenstein: The New Order review
Yes, I recommend this. This is a good starting point for an aspiring Wolfenstein player. Guns feel sick (as in sickly powerful), the violence up to eleven and graphics have stood well for the most part. Story is good also though obviously it isn't most complex. Gameplay is very satisfying with somewhat intelligent enemies, intense and brutal combat, gorey deaths and dismembered limbs. Soundtrack certainly exists but for now I don't remember a single track from it - I guess that would be a minor minus here.
Wolfenstein is a series that has run for decades now. There are plenty of really good games in the series, even the first one which was very rudimentary 3d is a classic for good reasons. If you like the latest MachineGames games... you might like 2009's Wolfenstein which had some occult stuff thrown into it. Though it hasn't aged perfectly, it has some really fun mechanics that elevate it above a mere normal shooter.
But on to the pros and cons for W: The New Order:
+ Good graphics
+ Good gore-system
+ Guns feel really powerful and impacts have weight
+ Story is existent and good enough
+ Combat works well and is better than most other shooters
Cons:
- Soundtrack wasn't really special (as far as I remember it)
- Could have been longer in duration
- No multiplayer of any kind
This is a 9 of 10 shooter for me. There are a few shooter games that top it: those being Doom 1/2, Half-Life-series, Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike (I include a few mp shooters as well because I really enjoyed them and count them among the same overall genre). But that all aside... this is a game I recommend that you complete for it's own sake. If you like it, then go buy Wolfenstein 2... it's a great and fun game as well.

For an older title this game still slaps, story was rich and had me craving to come back for more Nazi killing

It's hard to believe that this game was released in 2014. It looks and feels amazing and it's fun as hell.

On the surface, this game may come off as an explosion-riddled, guns-blazing, high-octane, Nazi killing shooter.
It is, don't get me wrong.
But alongside those qualities, it also carries a deep and lengthy story of the cruelties of war, prejudice, and revenge, which all come together for an emotional climax.
Intense gunplay, but it is marred by stealth sections, which feel forced at best and don't blend well with the bombastic elements of the gunplay.
But overall, the voice acting, the writing and even the gameplay bring a powerful package that you should not miss out on.
