3/10
Chronicon and Grim Dawn had a baby, except that baby has a severe intellectual disability and ADHD. This game is that baby. You feel sorry for it, but you don't want anything to do with it.
Pros:
- If you're ranged, movement, attacking, controls etc feel pretty good
Mehs:
- Looks like it's easy to mod, but there are few available and they basically just fix problems with the base game
Cons:
- All melee characters constantly move, even when attacking. Feels horrible - Pets keep moving frantically even if there are no enemies, running into fire and getting themselves killed - Skills severely expensive, often with unnecessary charge limitations, and you barely regen mana - Most classes are simply terrible to play at first. I assume it gets better as you compliment your build with other classes, but it's not fun enough to get to that point - Can't bind mouse wheel up/down to anything. I reply heavily on this when playing ARPGs - Poor visibility in combat, partly due to unnecessary & frenetic movement of melee/pets - The game feels extremely twitchy and anxious due to unnecessary & frenetic movement of melee/pets - Minimap is incredibly cluttered with unnecessary lines everywhere - I intended to use the "Blizzard" ability I saw on the wiki, but it looks like it's been changed to Ice Traps and they're very awkward to use

it doesn't just look like it came from the late 90s, it was designed like that too - lots of rough balance and an old console UI certain classes can get hard-locked early on with bad drops, while others can clear the map naked off-screen with no effort if I picked it up in the bargain bin for 5-10 bucks 20 years ago I'd be pretty chuffed but it ain't worth the price today, even on sale
