A solid prequel for FF7. The remastered graphics look great compared to the PSP version. This is a good time killer to get in while you wait for FF7 remake part 3, and get a lot of Zack backstory.

Love the game played after FF7 Remake, and it really makes me appreciate Zack's character even more.

Was satisfying to do it all but doing all the missions takes so long but very easy too completion just takes some dedication :)

As a 2007 PSP game that has been ported and remastered for modern hardware, "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion" effectively achieves its purpose. The game serves as a prequel to the beloved "Final Fantasy VII," which I have not yet played as of this writing. It introduces players to the world of Midgar and all the characters they may encounter in the main game.
The game does this quite well, featuring a "use it or lose it" DMV system, and the cutscenes are impressive throughout. While playing on high settings on PC, the game looked great. It was exactly what I expected from a PSP port that I once watched an older sibling play as a child.
I would say that if the game is on sale, it's definitely worth a try.

Good remaster of a handheld game from 2007. Ported on modern engine, with models, textures and effects not looking like they were done for a console with 2 MB of VRAM. There are also changes to battle system, balance, some abilities and quite a lot of QoL. It looks and (mostly) feels up-to-date.
It may sound like I'm trying to belittle the work done, like this is a full-fledge remake and so on. But that is simply not the case. The core of the game is still the same Crisis Core from the PSP, with much of its shortcomings still there. The story is still kinda there, it's still short, Genesis is still going to make your eyes roll so hard you'll see back of your head, there is still 200 missions more than there should've been, and it's still "before and after Costly Punch".
And it's still fun to play.

As a prequel, this game is really good. Zack Fair's contribution to the ff7 narrative is fleshed out well in this game, and it does an awesome job expanding the world with additional lore. The best part of this game though, is it has the saddest ending in video game history. It's the only scene in gaming that made me cry.

Very good prequel and remake. Fun gameplay, decent side content and an amazing story.
Play FF7 OG first though.

As far as a playable game is concerned, it is better than the original PSP game.
As a work of art and story telling, the PSP version kicks the shit out of this remake.
Only buy this if you can stand commercial ass voice delivery and zero voice direction, graphic upgrades that somehow look worse than the original psp game upscaled on modern hardware. Or if you at least plan to install the mod that replaces all VA's with OG VAs from the PSP game.
SE really dropped the ball on this one.

Beautiful remaster and an epic prequel. I loved this game from start to finish. The visuals are great and the story is plenty of fun. Some of the missions were kinda silly and tedious but otherwise it's a really great game. I really enjoyed the combat system despite the randomness of the slot machine deal. Worth it for any Final Fantasy fan!
