Like a fellow reviewer already pointed out the game feels amateurish, despite it being their seventh title as far as I can tell.
The combat is too simplistic, with most encounters boiling down to mashing X or insta killing with a parry. The third arm is a nice idea, but nothing groundbreaking and also weirdly implemented, in both execution and utility.
The parkour sequences are bland, do not offer any meaningful choice or challenge, and the corresponding environment often feels empty.
The fixed camera makes everything feel static and the UI, especially the font, is horrendous.
And why in heaven's door are you forced to walk so slow inside your ship, its painful.
Also I got softlocked once
Great Until It Breaks—Steer Clear
I wanted to love They Always Run—and for the 8 hours I sank into it, I really did. The slick bounty-hunter action, cool art, and tight controls had me hooked. It’s got a lot going for it, and I’d have plenty of good to say if it weren’t for one massive problem: a crippling bug in a boss fight that’s a total game-ender. You’re stuck, unable to progress, and it’s not just me—tons of players have reported it. I even switched operating systems to dodge it, but nope, it followed me. Worse, the devs haven’t touched it despite the outcry. It’s a shame because this could’ve been a gem, but as is, it’s a BROKEN MESS. Even at a sale price, don’t bother—your time’s worth more than this frustration. Skip it until they fix it, if ever.
