Anomalous is a decent try at the Boomer Shooter genre, but not one I can recommend with so many great boomshoots out there. The design is clunky at best, the sound design is awful and I have grown to kind of hate soundtracks that are like "let's do the Mick Gordon thing but instead of carefully constructing the music, let's put a f*ckton of guitars and overlay them with each other". Weapons sounds weak and enemies lack personaltiy. The levels can also be very frustating.
But to be fair, it's not a terrible game, it's not even bad. It's just very mediocre.
