Great atmosphere and combat. Though many other parts of the game are pretty bad: Optimization, camera angles which cause enemies to ambush you off screen (my biggest complaint), needing to gather ingredients to make meals (health potions), timers for building things (like a mobile game).

It's really fun and has a gorgeous art style but the performance is absolutely atrocious. There are also only maybe 10 hours of story content at this point.

If I could give this a 'maybe' I would. I think Moon is really onto something and I see a potential game that could contend with the likes of Elden Ring. I'm going with thumbs down for now and will consider changing it back depending on the breach update.
The art direction is superb and I frankly want more open world to explore. The level design is incredibly good, best-in-class honestly. Combat is, overall, really great with only a few bad design decisions - some enemies track too much during swings (full 180s). The story is really intriguing and I have no complaints there, Sacrament is a cool city to explore.
Things I'm hoping Moon changes:
- Player tracking for certain enemies and certain animations
- The ichor system is terrible, and I strongly dislike having my inventory being limited so much. Once you get your bonus ring slots this system is not fun IMO
- The material grind for town upgrades should be halved, and the timers reduced/removed, I don't want to stall my progression for another 4 hours after I already did a material grind. Mobile games do that.
- Earlier options for trying different weapons to experiment with movesets
- The earth trolls that pop out are irritating, the intent behind them is cool but they need a rework
- While the rogue lite mode is cool at first, it quickly becomes a chore and feels unrewarding since I need to kill the end boss who is a SPONGE. Feels like I need gimmick builds to win. If the mode is not reworked significantly I'd consider it a failure. Focus your resources on the open world instead if you can't nail this. I am in love with the open world you've made.
- Coop.
I'm hoping the breach/roadmap delivers on these areas, as I'd like to spend more time in Sacrament with my friends. I'll change my review then.

I bought the game when it first entered early access and really enjoyed it. The pacing and graphics were unique to the genre. I'd have to say I already got my money's worth. Haven't played since about a month or so after EA release and it doesn't look like anything has really been done with the game in nearly a year judging from the news feed on Steam. I hate to say it, but things are looking pretty grim for the future of the game at this point. Even if it does get finished and come out in 1-2 years, they may have missed whatever window they had with POE 2 likely full releasing before or around the same time. I will certainly still check out and play the game when if/when it releases, but I can't really recommend any potential buyers to pick it up at this point. I'd love to be able to update this review to positive in the future.

This is early access and knew going in the game also favored controllers but KBM is supported, so gave a it a shot. Keyboard controls kind of suck, certain directions you move your character in and hit the attack button your character shoots off and swings in the opposite direction your character was actually moving in. Makes combat frustrating and useless for stronger enemies. Other parts of game seem pretty cool, look and feel, etc is all nice. But I am not a fan of controller use on PC games, May change my rating if they ever fix the KBM controls. Until then it will be uninstalled.

for me the art and look of the game (including voice acting) is more than enough to try the game and i just hope they add more to the game

I bought the game and put a few hours into it. It was fun and enjoyable. Then after 30+ hours I finally found the real information on the game. All information is not put onto steam literally to trick you into thinking the game as you see it now will be what you buy. IT IS NOT. You have to dig through their discord shit to find any real information on it.
It will require 3rd party account bullshit to play multiplayer.
The designer of the game(some thomas smuck) is saying that they are making the game, per their quote on discord, something that you HAVE to play every day to keep your world alive and not have it ruin your world/
They've ignored their roadmap twice and have already replaced it without actually replacing it.
They refuse to put infomation on the steam page as well as putting just plan wrong information on the page. MULTIPLAYER IS NOT OUT YET. DOES NOT WORK MOST OF THE TIME ON THE DECK.
One of the few game I legetimetly regret having spent the money on. I wish I hadn't been led astray with wrong/no information on the store page. They probably do that to trick people like me into playing a game they plan on changing completely in the next patch(which will NOT have multiplayer as per their first and ORIGINAL roadmap that they already just ignored.
Bait and Switch. Nothing more.

I currently would not recommend this game due to both performance issues (expected during early access) and baffling design decisions that overtly punish death. This game will be closer to a farming grinding simulator than anything else if they continue with these choices.
It will also be close to a year without any major changes to the game which i personally find to be unacceptable of an early access product. How can we comment on and participate in the development cycle if development happens entirely behind closed doors?

A lot of potential. Seems a lot of fixing needed. Love the art style. Gameplay is solid. Love the parrying system; not really punishing.
The Crucible is just fun. Now im just grinding a lot of materials; just to ended up hoarding them all up. Bought one big house just to hoard all the upgrade material stuff.
Gonna keep playing this game until its full release.

Literally all the negative reviews are about the Updates/Future content being delayed and nerds sooking about no multiplayer. Play the game which is about 20-30hrs atm which is well worth the price tag.
Game is phenomenal and a leap forward for the genre. feels and plays like a AAA game
