Making me lose weight.... 10/10 Ngl if you are big like me (I'm not fat but bulky) this will have you moving especially getting horded by nighthaunt and struggling to survive lol But seriously I like the game as a hardcore Warhammer fan at first I was just excited to have a Warhammer vr game even if it's AOS I would love to see an old world one or more of these VR games in the Warhammer universes. I say this to show I do have a bias and I desperately want these games to succeed so more can come. Besides all that the game is quite fun as a early vr title. Yes for APG wise it's average but the VR is what makes it great along with it's sister game in Warhammer universe Sister of battle. Just like in that game the scale of everything matches Warhammer perfectly and I believe it was a great attempt to bring you that player into the land of the dead. The story is okay it's a simple story that gives you reason to push through but the combat and visual the actual gameplay loop is what keeps you playing its absolutely worth it on that alone. And it's alot longer then I thought it would be especially if your a nerd like me that has to read everything. So far I actually love the game and hope despite the mix reviews more come much more and expanding of this story or in Warhammer fantasy.

I want to love this game, I really do. It's such a fantastic idea that should work, and everything does, except for one major major flaw. The Combat. It's awful, even after a ton of patches the weapons still only actually hit enemies 20% of the time. Hell, I've even died multiple times from my weapons just going through enemies and doing nothing to them while they wail on me. Your weapons feel misaligned in your hands, and the spells hardly work either. Very often i'll start a fight doing the same spell motion over and over going "why won't you activate". Your weapons feel weighty but have, apparently, 0 presence in the actual world. The graphics are okay, but too many Stormguard stood around with the arms so far apart they look like they're A-posing really breaks the immersion. Again, I really wanna love this. I've picked it up twice now (once at launch, once a few patches down the line) but each time it just feels so very broken.

This game is a good batch of simple and enjoyable. Downsides are: 1) lack of collisions in some places (you can go through textures and end in limbo) 2) A.I. acts dumb on some arenas (but if not it is actually really aggressive and delivers quite a punch) 3) I also encountered some problems with hit detection after previous patch (maybe you need to hit harder now physically to attack) Overall, I really spent a good time with it so far.

Warhammer + Carbon Studio = this was meant to be good. But also a disclaimer: I was playing Warhammer like a lunatic in my youth so I am rather easily pleased whenever Warhammer brand comes into play. As for the gameplay - it is like the ultimate fantasy combat game and in VR it just blows your brain. People kekeking 'VR is dying' clearly never played this game over here. I am praying it will eventually come to Oculus Quest because... well wireless>wired.

On Index the weapon angle makes the game unplayable. Hands are tilted backwards a staggering ~45 degrees, and inwards ~15. In the forums the devs said they'd "look into it" a year ago, and nothing.

So far so good! It's a really great game with amazing graphics which is surprising for me because I'm playing on 1060 and Quest 2 via Oculus Link. Combat is really fun with all of available spells and it's hard not to smile while playing. One of strong sides of this game is immersion - playing as Lord-Arcanum brings joy and if it wasn't for the headset on my head I'd be fully submerged in this world.

Okay... this is one of the games I finished, grinding teeth, only because I paid for it and it was Warhammer. Terrible combat, subpar graphics (Skyrim VR without mods... in 2020s), nonexistent story. Enemies respawning just because you went ahead twenty steps and decided to return because, well, ruins were nicely confusing to explore. It is boring, repetitive and hard on the eyes. This is basically Battle Sister, but even worse in every aspect. At least in BS you can shoot stuff without the awkward motion commands that don't register 50% of time. The fact that only something like 3% of players have gotten the final "boss" (in reality kite and smite encounter) achievement speaks volumes.

Imagine Skyrim VR: but only the dungeons; with only a sword in one hand that you can only swing side to side, a rubbish burst spell in the other, and a crappy dragon shout: and only against a handful of enemy types; that is basically this game. The combat is just poor, floaty and one note. There is no depth, weight or tactics. You can just wave your arm like a Wii Remote. The magic is impactless and dull. The biggest challenge in the game is switching weapons, it's the only battle the game offers. Half the enemies feel like they are whacking you in the shins, all of them basically stand around to take turns and none of them are fun. The climbing is good; and opening doors. They should remove the terrible combat and make 'Age of Sigmar: The Climbing Sim'. Sorry devs, but when your game is so centred around combat, you kind of have to make it feel fun, and it doesn't; it feels like a Wii game.

Had high hopes for this and was sorely disappointed. The combat was lacklustre and felt janky with hits sometimes not registering and passing through enemies also the way the weapons like the sword are set up is horrific as it is set at an uncomfortable angle for index users and it took me five minutes to get past a barrier with the arcane bolt cause it is also set at a bad angle and doesn't go where you cast it. I only played this for 30 minutes and it just under performed what i hoped for the visuals where nice and it has good particle effects but it feels like the devs put more time into that than the combat system. So too all index users stay away from this game as it is not suited for index controllers.

Can't recommend this game after tonight's play on launch day, nor after returning to it twice in the two years since and updating this review. Performance has improved, generally, so at least that's something. There are a few questionable design decisions on this PC VR release: 1) no dynamic shadows on NPCs and the environment. Looks flat **** This is the games largest visual draw back. It's just uninspiring where it should be awe inspiring. 2) Short draw distances **** still looks like it's being held back. Even the loading screen images show larger view distance, so it must have been there, once-upon-a-time. 3) Lack of hi-res textures **** if anything has been done, it's not enough. e.g. Stone pillar and internal wall textures look muddy and out of focus unless you step FAR back. 4) Static NPCs when talking, no consistent visual cues that they are talking, they will just stand there staring through their masks, where a few gestures now and again would help identify them.**** Fixed, though now I see black holes of their eyes when looking at them.... 5) UI lacks finesse generally. The radial menu is mostly functional, though could be polished, and more efficient. **** Improved... but Unable to switch weapons without having one in hand 6) Tracking of spells actions with the controllers is hit and miss, though perhaps there's more skill required than I'm able to achieve in two hours? **** this has improved, or I've gotgud, and works more often than not for me. 7) Uninspiring combat. Waves of early enemies rarely feel like a threat. Maybe it ramps up in later levels. *** early level combat is still not fun. 8) Crafting UI needs polished. There's something incomplete about it. Would do with more time being spent on it. *** improved, but still lacking, e.g. Contrast between stages of craft is barely noticeable. 9) The sky box. I know it's Shyish, but..... ***** much improved 10) The graphics options. Barely functioning. Switching from Very High to low was a barely significant uplift (in the second, city, level where I tested this). **** tried to switch. Game wouldn't load on low, just went to black. Bug stops play. Didn't try again. The entire game feels like it's been built for optimisation on low spec devices. The positives? It's Warhammer, and it's bleak. The voice acting generally is OK to listen to Climbing has a skip button if you CBA, nice QoL Puzzle chests - easy, but nice Spell effects The level design. There's a lot of variety in the levels, and some genuine awesome looking sets even if the textures, shadows, levels of detail and draw distances let it down. It was good fun to explore, and definitely would love to see higher rez textures and dynamic shadows added. There is definitely a game here. And it could be a lot of fun. Seems that there's no more patches to come to bring it to its full potential. If you absolutely love Warhammer, and are willing to take the rough with the smooth just for your fix, then fill your boots. Otherwise, this is far from the studio's best work, and I'd look elsewhere for dungeon crawling RPG type action.
