It plays like a Half-Life 2 prototype, but it's a fun 3 hours or so.

Simple, but quite entertaining action flick, build on solid foundation and occasionally showing glimpses of serious potential.
Imo the running and gunning here feels better than in Half Life 2 :)
Hey hey hey! Before you start throwing stones at me - I'm not saying HL2 is a trash game (just a bit overrated);p
SiN's guns feel more powerful, and the pacing of combat is better - game is more condensed, and it doesn't drag you through miles of copy pasted corridor-y locations like HL2 likes to do ;p
Good ragdolls, great headshots, familiar Source visual style and physics - all that works in the game's favor.
It gets good right from the early game, when you get your first pistol and find out it isn't some weak last-resort junk, but absolutely lethal gun that lets you go on serious power trips, scoring whole series of headshots while firing from the hip.
Then you get the shotgun and SMG with grenade launcher - only 3 weapons may be a bit disappointing, but all 3 are powerful, and have useful alt-fire modes :)
Most of the time you fight masked mercs, dressed in yellow combat suits. Some of them have helmets that need to be shoot-off before they can taste your lead. Their AI isn't very sophisticated, but does the job. Hey - sometimes they can even kick some random barrel in your direction, and that's already above my expectations for a simple shooter :) Later on, you will also face mercs with jetpacks, fortunately they aren't very annoying or bulletspongy, and they even have dedicated death animation sequences when you break their jetpacks - very nice :)
The game also throws some mutants at you. Bigger mutants rush at you trying to hurt you up-close, while smaller ones jump around throwing projectiles. Nothing too deep, but their pathfinding works pretty well, and before you get bored of them game reasonably switches back to shooting yellow mercs.
Few times I saw some mercs vs mutants in-fighting, which is absolutely a positive surprise :)
There is even one boss. Big mutated gorilla, with few attack patterns, can even destroy some environment assets :D
You have to fight him twice XD
I guess that's one of the necessary budget cuts, but if they really had to do it, to pump more cash into character models - fair enough :)
From the moment I saw Elexis Sinclaire I understood it all.
The game has only 3 weapons, bc it's very hard to make them with one hand!
Game cuts corners with level design and sends you through the same locations twice - back and forth, bc the team was so laser-focused on making her 3D model, there was barely any time or budget for anything else!
But what a nice model it is :D For sure more famous than the game itself.
Your ally, Jessica, while also well rounded, doesn't have any cutscenes in the water, and I think it's the saddest thing about this whole game.
There is also a story, game starts a few threads, but doesn't elaborate on any of them, I guess they planned to do the pay-off in later episodes, but they finally never came out.
Overall, it's nothing groundbreaking, but it has enough going for it to keep you interested for 3 hours :)

The biggest disappointment with this game is that we'll never see the series concluded. One of the biggest cock teases of all time.

Very short but very very good game that is very reminiscent of half life 2 (i believe this also runs on source so may be an atributing factor)
Wish they had continued this one as it legit just end the same way half life 2:episode 2 did.

I've seen people give this game a lot of hate but honestly it was very enjoyable. A bit cheesy but in a good way the combat is fun and it never goes on for too long in places. I just hope this one day gets some needed love and maybe a small mod community or something. Can't wait for the sequel ;3
