This game is meant to be replayed, so after replaying the game and experiencing different endings I want to highlight how multilayered the game is. Signalis is a game made by artists, it has a strong style that it fully commits to. There is a story, but it's not told to the player directly, and even then it leaves a lot up to interpretation. The inevitability of death, love/loyalty, free will, reincarnation/remakes, staying closeted for one's own safety, repetition, failure, and control are just some of the themes the game touches on. It can also be experienced as a beautiful, melancholic moodpiece, as I did on my first playthough. Or it can just be shooty game where you run from spooky monsters :) A piece of media hasn't made me feel this much in years. Ironically this game has poisoned me with memories of itself, haven't been able to stop thinking about since first playing. I want more, I need more, but I hope they don't make a sequel.

Absolutely beautiful world building. Be sure to play it on Survival Horror and Classic Inventory for the best experience. God damn that was good.

I absolutely love this game! It reminds me of the old Resident Evil games, but it's in 2D. The art design was also really cool, l really enjoyed the character designs and the lore that you could read about them. The controls are also simple but fun, nothing complicated. Though I was really bad at the puzzles and needed help most of the time :P The story is really interesting and keeps you guessing. It’s about love, sadness, and big questions about life. If you like scary games, you should definitely play Signalis! It’s a MUST

By far one of the bast story based survival horror games I've played. To me, Signalis is a work of art. The gameplay and mechanics brought me in and the rich world building, music and story kept me in.

I really like games where you don't understand shit about what's happening but you are still SO INTO IT! - ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING Art Direction - Great Puzzles - Lots of "Aha!" moments, Very Creative and Diverse Puzzles - Great Level Design - Combat gets a bit tedious at the end, but that's might be just a Skill Issue :") If you are a fan of Resident Evil 2,3 and Silent Hill, you should definetily try this game. It works great on Steam Deck

[NO SPOILERS]
I think an issue with modern horror games is that they seem to lack identity, typically falling under the modern misconception that realism is the best way to immerse players. On the other hand, SIGNALIS is a game that is simply brimming with identity, seeking to convey a story with a mixture of elements that create a memorable experience by not compromising itself with realism, but instead embraces creativity without limit. Never have I thought that we needed a sci-fi horror with lovecraftian-esque themes, and yet this game exists and managed to pull it off well. Gameplay-wise, it's fairly simplistic, clearly inspired by retro horror games such as RE1 and Silent Hill. Yet, the contents of the game itself is bountiful, from the levels you traverse through to the tidbits of lore you stumble upon, and maintains its own entire identity separate from the games that inspired it. The world of SIGNALIS is unique and very much horrifying, keeping the information of the world you're in such an enigmatic way, yet is rich enough to give you a sense of what is happening, leaving you ponder about the gaps in information deliberately left behind. Not to mention the build up to the insanity of it all, constantly putting me in a state of awe to what I got myself into. I can't stress enough how well is this game's presentation. I'm fairly certain that this game is the inspiration for all the subsequent decent indie horror games that have been releasing in the past few years. That being said, SIGNALIS is certainly one of the best examples of what a horror game should be.

Greatest of all time. Zenith of the medium. Hallmark of media. Gold standard of storytelling. Apogee of creativity. Vertex of invention. Crest of ingenuity. Acme of imagination. Pinnacle of innovation. Epic of epics. Legend among legends. Peak fiction. Sesbian Lex.

This game is genuinely so sad that I started to reconnect with nature after playing it and re-contemplated my relation to the entirety of romance despite being about a character you only see like three times.
