I don't know how to feel about this game. Rockstar refuses to fix all the anti-piracy measures they originally put in the game, so even with a patch i have a suspicion my game is still broken. The enemy a.i is extremely dated, the game is stealth focused yet there's so many ambushes and gun sections. is it really worth playing this game in modern times? i would say no. its extremely violent and disturbing yes but if the gameplay can't keep up then, in my opinion, the artistic value of the game is lost. its nice to watch speedruns, see how experienced players dominate the levels but when it's the turn of somebody whose never played a game like this, getting spotted, dying several times, playing tag with the hunters, and just not knowing whats going on will become a routine one will quickly get fed up with. in conclusion: great music, great atmosphere, very poor gameplay, especially the gun fights. i don't recommend since theres nothing here for anybody. (unless you like violence).

I'm giving it a negative review, not because its a bad game, but more based on my experience. I know the steam version has a lot of anti piracy on it, and the tools to run and fix it did work for me so there's a positive if anyone wants to know. Personally, I just couldn't get a hang of the games controls. The steam/pc version doesn't support controller input so you have to use a keyboard & mouse to play it. I've always used controllers to play pretty much anything, so trying to do it here, I just couldn't play it. Other people can get the hang of WASD gameplay, but I personally need a controller. You can re-map the controls in game, but I just found it so confusing, and wondered if it was working correctly when I tried re-mapping inputs. There are mods to allow controller input, but they didn't work for me. If you're someone who can only play games using a controller, I wouldn't get this version. I'd say you're better either buying the game on Xbox Live/PSN, where its double the price, but will be much easier to get the hang of, or just buy a physical copy somewhere. You also won't have to worry about the piracy features too, if you buy the game that way.

[Received at a discount] No nostalgia in this review as i have no previous playing experience as this was before my time Manhunt is very good i like it. it's a nice stealth game way ahead of it's time genuinely one of the most creepiest and fantastically made atmospheres of any games I've played Now for the problem: This is exclusive to the steam release but it is completely non functional without a mod! I recommend searching for the automatic manhunt patcher to get the fully functional and fantastic game

I can't get pass the gate, it keeps glitching and doesn't open or it'll open and then close right after the enemy comes through in scene 1. Its really upsetting because I was really enthusiastic about this game

It needs a handful of user-made fixes just to "restore" it back to it's original glory. You'd be downloading less things just to emulate it then you'd have access to a lot more classics without giving money to a company that clearly doesn't care about PC as a platform.

Cara não compre esse jogo simplsimente gastei 5 reais e o jogo simplismente está lotado de bugs e mais tarde descobri que está versão da steam e simplismente PIRATEADA, e triste que esse jogo é uma obra prima mais e impossível de jogar a não ser que você baixe um bug fixer, cujo qual eu não confio em baixar no meu computador

Great game. Unfortunately, you need to install fixes to play it, otherwise it's impossible to beat it.

Game is amazing and the fix is actually really easy you dont need to be a computer scientist to know how to fix it, this game is better than manhunt 2 for sure but manhunt 2 is also great but its abandonware the link to get manhunt 2 is here https://1fichier.com/?ivumho401yo8gwwpvc5q no install required just run manhunt2.exe as adminstrator. BUT onto manhunt 1. Manhunt 1 is better because of the story and the atmosphere of camcorders and snuff films, manhunt 2 has 2 better things that pop up into my mind: better graphics and executions. The characters are cool and amazing in manhunt 1 like the cerberus, SWAT, james cash, and starkweather. Manhunt 1 is honestly one of my favorite fucking games of all time and from rockstar because this is during the time where rockstar had BALLS on them and didnt gaf about news and shit so their games were just uncut and graphical which i love.

As others have said, rockstar literally put a broken pirated version of manhunt on the storepage and hasn't changed it.

ONLY GET THIS GAME IF YOU ARE OK WITH DOWNLOADING A COMMUNITY MADE PATCH TO PLAY IT!! It sucks that Rockstar ported it wrong to PC but the patch is easy to download and run. I didn't listen to the other reviews and I thought since my PC is brand new that it'd run fine. Well you can't even make it out of the first level without it crashing lol. Since this game is so old Rockstar has abandoned it, leaving it up to the community to fix. To find the patch just go on YouTube there's a couple videos on it and you'll find the GitHub link in their description to fix the game (its called Manhunt Fixer). Once you fix the game it's pretty solid. The game is meant to be challenging and the games old mechanics only make it harder. But I kept coming back every day till I beat it. So I'd recommend picking it up if you haven't played it.
