Eternal Dread 2 Reviews

The world was at the edge of despair. Driven to the brink of extinction, mankind exhausted all their able-bodied men in a futile war against the demon hordes, leaving behind only the female, the young and the vulnerable. And so it came to the women to take up arms and protect what remains of humanity.

The only thing I want to complain about is the RNG of Nakka's appearance. And when I meet Nakka and I try get caught, she actually kills me. Failing me to go for an achievement. Not only once, but thrice! Anyway, if you know what you are walking into then this game is worth to satisfy your evil. Also this game doesn't have New Game+ mode, so you gotta start from zero for each available six characters to get the secret ending. To be the least, the replayability value is when you want to surrender to some enemies and watch your character in defeated scene.

This game is more fun with fantasy music on in the background from either Spotify / youtube... LOTR music, any kind of fantasy action/adventure music. ill be completely honest im dissapointed im not seeing any H-action for the gameovers, but the gameplay is still fun enough for me to keep coming back to it, apparently.

Like prequel, this one is mostly for people who like to see girls in bondage. Instead of one protagonist, now we can chose one of six (three initially, the other three unlock later), each with own skill set. Unlike with Eternal Dread, where it was possible to grind your way to victory, here it is more about equipment as characters do not level up. There is even second ending after completing game with every character. Otherwise, it is pretty much like previous game with riddiculous jumping heigh and limited animations. Specific game for specific audience. If you liked Eternal Dread, this one is at least as good. If not - skip.

I'm glad I chose to play Eternal Dread before the sequel. The story flows from one to the other flawlessly. Unlike the first game there is no level system. The game is completely skill based. Even with the best gear, you can still be killed by a lowly fungi. I chose Amber which was fun tossing turrets and running in circles. The lady selection with classes was a nice touch. This one is more linear than the first, and It's more of a Zelda power system. Find Skill Orbs to gain power and grind nodes and monsters to make better gear. You don't need the gear, but it helps. The ending was definitely a surprise. Met Yiraf once, got 1-shot failing to dodge, never found him again. Never found that Tempered Slime either :-\. If Hitbear Studio is planning on a third, I would recommend the ability to change the key bindings. Shift for Run and V for dodge may seem okay for where your hand sits using WASD for movement Q for weapon change, and E for interact, but I would rather use R for Dodge or replace Right Click from Block to Dodge. The amount of times I've opened my Character screen trying to dodge was more frustrating than the game difficulty itself. In fact, the controls are 90% of the game difficulty. Shift is uncomfortable to be constantly finding with your pinky as well. Anyway, a Key Binding option and a character size/shape option would be great. Maybe 3-4 sizes to choose from. Original-Twiggy, Top or Bottom Heavy, and DAAAAMN Curves would be cool. The guards always speak of armor being hard to come by, and why all the warriors are female. A comment on how some warriors sneak extra rations and hide from training or something funny to explain why some warriors have big breasts and rears while others are athletic and slender. I love the way she sways her hips as she runs too. I don't remember Riel swinging them like that. All in all I enjoyed this game and it gets the Tap-Fap Stamp of Approval.

Honestly a pretty boring game. They claim there's no grinding because they don't have a level up system, but there's so much backtracking and slowly whittling away at enemies that it defeats the purpose. Also, there's no option to play it on mute. So, probably just save your money and look up pictures of cute girls in skimpy armor online instead.

A fine low budget game with lots of potential. Not enough gore and sexual themes tho. Maybe it will get better sale if it has more R-18G factor and sold on other platform such as DLsite.

the combat is not good, it may show these cool looking things on the video but in reality is you have about 3 choices, 1, jump in attack attack attack block, the most fun option but it looses its value due to the hp of enemies most of the time 2, use abilities then sit back wait to recharge and go again, effective and slow and boring 3, just run past them, due to their ai being horrid you dont even need to try and fight them most of the time. the "sexual content" is minimal at best the deaths are more often the not a implication that is closer to a side note then anything.

[One playthrough without achieving hidden content and bosses] A simple hack and slash that is fun to come back once a while for a mindless grind. Note it is a budget game with seems to be made by a few people over a year, remember that going into it. There's mild sexual theme and moderate gore that body part blew away in anime artstyle, nothing close to Mortal Kombat gore, nor Senran Kagura nudity. Gameplay: It is like a 2000s MMORPG inspired by Diablo 2. Overall, Player simply get a quest from the NPC and fight to the objective. Although it is basic, it is a fairly complete RPG game. Nothing too challenging except the character die pretty easily, since the gore and sexual theme occur when you die. The potions and arrows do not comeback after revive thus it could be frustrating to some, but may be fine for those who like Rogue-like Genre. Nothing much that make it too difficult on Normal, a lot of grinding to recover in Hard. AI is basic and pretty easy to get by. Progression is done through crafting materials availability and collecting skill points scatter all over the maps. There is no experience from killing to level up, nor there is much customization on skill tree. Does not hurt to walk around and defeat some area boss. Equipment and skill points are the stats modifiers. Equipment will come with fix basic stat with random effect or stat modifier, such as Crit +3 or Life Steal. The skill points also use on badges that can equip to modify stat, such as Max HP+20%. With only 7 slot for equipment and 4 slot for badges, you can kind of optimize for the situation or play style. You can kill friendly NPC for some "scene", You know the developer has some passion by adding that. Control Fairly classic WASD with mouse control (did not try controller). The mouse sensitivity is too sensitive for any FPS players and there's no option to adjust, but it is fairly playable nor a obstacle to the minor platforming. Graphic/Sound Basic and probably commercial texture, but the 2D model is pretty well model and animated as a budget game. It will do the job, but not going to arouse you. Story Did not play ED1 but seems to be the continuation to it. Spoilers:
The story kind of cut off at the final boss (to be continue meme), prepare for ED3 I guess
The developer put some effort to animate the scene instead of just simple text, minimum but made the game feel complete. Bugs No Bugs encounter during 20 hours play time. Conclusion Buy at discount. Buy full only if you want to support the developer. It is a simple game that is fun to play once a while, you won't feel shortchanged if you enjoy the gameplay, but the replayability is not there, thus the discount. For those who is looking for bikini armor tied to some torture equipment.... You might be better off buying discounted Senran Kagura instead for the nudity.

-.Better map design and easier combat than the first one but the bosses are still frustating to kill even with difficulty options. -."Interesting" gameover screen -. A bit bland combat but not as repetitive like the first one because no leveling. -. 6 characters to choose from In general if you're someone with interest in these kinks, you will buy the game instead of waiting for reviews like these. I would recommend it though. Help. I can't stop playing. P.S. : Secret dungeon is awesome

Edit 2: I got to the final boss in about 18 hours. Everything I said below is still true. It does get very tough and the bosses are hard and very tedious. They have way too much HP in my opinion. Switching to easy mode does help some, but the bosses are still major damage sponges and it takes a lot of patience to get through some of them. ----- I'm a couple hours in and so far, it has been a lot of fun. You don't gain experience from killing or completing quests. You find glowing balls that give you skill points when you touch them. You spend these points on special moves or to increase damage, defense, etc. There are no traditional levels or raising of stats such as strength or dexterity. There are only 7 gear slots. I wish there were a few more, but it's acceptable to me. One thing to note is that melee weapons apparently do have a speed, even though it's not listed anywhere. A short sword swings noticeably faster than an ax. You'll have to experiment to see what does the most overall damage, so don't go by just the displayed damage number. There is an NPC that will craft items for you using material that you gather or loot from monsters. You can change the key settings in the Unity loading screen, but the key for talking and looting (E) is not in the list of keys you can change. It does support a controller, but I can see no way to change the camera angle while playing, so you can't aim the bow with the controller. This makes the built-in controller support pretty useless. xpadder works great for me (right stick set as inverted Y mouse), but I had to go in to the Unity loading screen and set all of the "joystick" buttons to something I won't use (like pushing down on the right sick). Otherwise xpadder and the built-in support will conflict. The AI is fairly basic and it's pretty easy to cheese it and
get a monster stuck on a tent pole or tree, and kill him with a bow
. A couple of times I'm glad I could do this as I was out of potions and sometimes you have to re-kill a good number of monsters to get back to where you died. You do not lose anything you have looted but the monsters do respawn when you die, and you go back to some unmarked checkpoint. I do own one of their older games, Eternal Lore. It was fun, but was a bit too clunky for me to really get in to. This game is very similar to that one, but with a lot of improvements. It is a solid recommend for me. Edit 1: Be aware that the game can get very difficult. Since you can't grind levels, the skill points you can find are limited and the materials you need for some of the gear upgrades are in areas you can't get to yet, some quests can feel borderline impossible. One quest in particular (
protecting the girl while she brings down the barrier
) took me many (25+) tries. I believe this sequence needs to be toned down a bit, and made somewhat shorter. Also, when you die and select "retry" you continue on from the last checkpoint, but still have the same amount of resources (potions, arrows, etc.) as when you died so after every attempt you have fewer resources, making it even harder. Luckily, you can
press Alt-F4 and quit, then load your game and it restores all your stuff. It may also work if you just don't select "Retry" but I have not tried this
.
