One of the coolest first stages ever, and generally a really fun game, at least for an average player like me. I don't play shooters much but I thought they were too straightforward from what I played, this one gives you plenty of customizability in what the ugprades pickups actually give you. It might take a second to learn how everything works, but the tutorial being short can be seen as a good thing. If you're too good then it might be easy because there's plenty of busted crap, like being able to permanently stay invincible in laser beams with proper timing (given how much the game teaches you to abuse the drain mechanic offensively, it might be intentional). There is the mode that kills you in one hit after beating it if it helps. If you're too bad, apparently dying and retrying a bosses puts you in such a weak state that you're better off replaying the whole stage. Which takes maybe 5 minutes?. I barely ever died (playing on normal), so this wasn't an issue for me, but you can use that time to grind earlier stages for upgrades. Also, the boss of stage 3 can be a pain if you don't figure out the gimmick of abusing the drain, unless I played it wrong.
