Short, but the boss fights are really cool; Hoping for the 3rd game of this title.

It's a very solid game, im not a type of a guy who gets into details, but some people complain that the gameplay style is way to different compared to the previous game, it's true, but the game is very good even with the gameplay change, just dont expect that youre gonna get the same style of movement like in previous game, even though youre playing with the same character.

This is exactly what you expect from Gunvolt/iX gameplay. Fast paced (if you want it to be) levels, with cool skills, and mobile character. You are pretty much immortal, although the system in this game just allows you to heal at any time, even during knockbacks(which are very short), when jumping or when being swallowed in poisonous acid. Falling into holes still instantly kills you, but as in previous games you might get an Anthem upon dying, which makes you even more powerful. Copen is controlling a bit different than in previous game, being more grounded. I've seen some people hate it a lot, but I found it made the gameplay more interesting than bullit hell from previous game. Your mileage may vary. The story is so basic and useless it could as well not exist. They wrote themselves in the corner in the previous game, and this one just feels like a filler episode of an anime. Happens in another world, and nothing that happens can have any impact on the "real world". I've finished the game yesterday and I already forgot what it was about. To see the true story you need to complete the base game, get all emblems hidden on the stages, and then complete the game on hard. Which I didn't, I just watched the cutscenes on the youtube, and it's still not good. The unlock system for all the modifiers is quite grindy, better items can cost 80k+ coins, and you get maybe about 5k per stage during your first attempt(where you won't get the best score, since you're looking for collectibles and learning the game). If you master the levels you get more. To maximize the score you basically you want to avoid all checkpoints, never use heal, get a lot of Kudos, and then finish the boss with your ultra to convert Kudos into the score. Not too different from previous games. The 6 special weapons which you get megaman style are very distinct and diverse. I liked 4 out of 6, other 2 I used only in the places they were supposed to be used to get a collectible. Most of them can be used in different ways, which is cool. If you liked previous Gunvolt games you'll like this, unless you just can't survive Copen control a bit different than in iX1. If you never played any of the Gunvolt games this is not the game to start with.
