Before you buy, keep in mind that this game is NOT a remastered version.
You might be thinking that this isn't much of a deal but you might be shown how wrong you are.
Outside of many consistent visual bugs, stuttering, freezing and even crashing (hell on one of my playthroughs even my save file got corrupted halfway through) you might not experience all of those things but i in fact did
But to keep technical difficulties away let's have a simple mention about the gameplay, it is cool and somewhat satisfying for the first 2 or 3 hours but after that it just became dull as no new mechanics or unique enemies are introduced(or at the very least enemies who might require something more to get killed than a light), not only that but the game suffers from 2010s game syndrome as the main character can't sprint for more than 5 seconds without slowing down to a speed of a crippled drunkard(i'm looking at you The Evil Within), this can be quite annoying as you will walk great lenghts
Now the cars, they are terrible at driving and have the durability of the durex condom bought on black friday sale
Overall gameplay can be entertaining for first 2 hours no less no more
The story and the way it's told is where the game shines, it is quite difficult to keep me engaged and this product did in fact achieve that, to fully understand what's going on you need to stop for a moment and listen to other dialogue lines that npcs have to say and same goes to the collectible manuscripts that also are interesting to read, i might even have to buy the book in the future and give it a read once i'll get some time to spare
Oh, how could i forget about FUCKING 300 COLLECTIBLES IN 6 HOUR LONG GAME, LIKE, WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?
To sum it up, majority of those complains would cease to exist with the remastered version being avaiable instead of the original, i can't really tell if all those issues are caused by terrible PC port or just the game aged like a milk, i really can't
So, should you play this game? If you are new to the series then...No. go play remaster on the console or try to find it somewhere on PC instead, but if you are already familiar with the story and would like to re-live it then go on, no one stops you, but in the end maybe i have expected too much from this decade old product
