bilanciato male

This game is (now) fantastic. It is a massive improvement on every front with respect to the original version. Now the world feels more alive, there are a lot of side quests and the story has been made much more interesting and exciting to witness. For lovers of the JRPG genre (especially the turn-based ones like Final Fantasy 7 or Dragon Quest VIII) it is a necessary buy. I'm loving the crap out of it and I expect even greater things to come from Snowcastle Games.

It is with a heavy heart that I leave a negative vote for this game. Honestly, I liked it at first, and I think it has a lot of potential, but there is not enough to it to really recommend it. Earthlock is a turn-based, cute-looking, JRPG-style game that brings back memories of early Final Fantasy and Ni no Kuni. It has some depth and it tries hard, but the resemblances end there. The cute look is endearing, and I felt curious at first because it seems an interesting mix of novelty and nostalgia. Several hours in, all its limitations are quite clear: - generic characters with no personality - no story: of course there must be a story, but 14 hours in I still have no clue of why I'm going around and why I should care - no immersion: cutscenes are minimal and in game graphics - no lore: you just get dumped into a world you really don't need to know anything about - clearly a console product, not thought with keyboard+mouse in mind - battle system: for being turn-based, it is really lacking in strategy I really wanted to like it and to keep going. However, I just had to accept that at this point it felt like a chore and I was just pushing forward looking for the next save point, not really caring about what was going on in game (not much, to be fair). It is not a bad game per se, but I think it would have greatly benefited from better writing.

lo stile di Earthlock è molto simile a Final Fantasy 7, me lo ricorda moltissimo. E questa cosa la trovo molto positiva. Combattimenti a turni, grafica pulita senza troppe pretese, stile jrpg, storia interessante. Se sei un amante del genere, si tratta di un titolo da acquistare

Grafica carina e ottima colonna sonora ma c'è qualcosa in questo gioco che non mi prende. Sarà la mancanza di loot (non si "droppa" praticamente nulla), la difficoltà mal bilanciata, la "scarsezza" dei personaggi o la generale piattezza del tutto ma non mi viene voglia di andare avanti. Non è un brutto gioco, è un gioco insipido, scialbo... se volete un gdr a turni titoli come Divinity Original Sin (enorme) o Battle Chasers Nighwar (semplice ed efficace) sono 10.000 volte meglio.
