A mixed feeling on this Atelier, the main characters, Firis and Liane and some secondary characters are great, OSTs are very nice to listen to but the Open world isn't good for me. Maps are way too big with somewhat limited fast travel options, You can't fast travel from area to another until endgame and don't have a fast conveyance until late in the game making backtracking for ressources or exploration a chore. The container is very limited (crafted a better than the base one but stills limited), i dont know in the endgame if it get better. The alchemy was meh for me, the lack of duplication, way to replenish charges (i think you can in the endgame but i dont have the motivation to reach it) and the very grindy nature of it. I wasn't engaged with the mechanics behind it and just craft without looking out for good traits. The mass synthesis didnt make sense to me and i'm glad they remove it fater this game. The combat is just miserable, you'll spam basic attack most of the time and use your item gained through alchemy for harder ennemies. Skills doesnt feel impactul damage-wise and cost way too much MP until you have some way to recover them. Costumes should have been only cosmetics and dont have any extra effects on alchemy or exploration. The time limit was fine for me, on first half normal then easy if you focus on the 5 recommandations and explore a bit each area but avoid doing grotto and most NPCs sidequests they're not worth your time, I had +130 days left. I can understand people complaining about it and it feels weird having it with large areas and limited fast travels. I stopped playing the game after the exam which is considered the end of the "main" story and is about 30-40% of the game. Overall it's probably my least favorite game of the series so far, I did and enjoy Sophie, Ryza 1 and 2. Note : 5.5/10
