Briefly put: This game is not an old school RPG like Ultima VII and the like, it is a mindless grind with a bad writing, difficulty spikes due to improper balance, more towns than there are quests and characters that are completely without any personality or agenda. The questlog is a pain and the interface in general is of a tedious and slow to operate and manouver design. The good things are the skill system, the combat and the pure size of the world. Lots of places to discover, but again, nothing feels special. I have played so much better games designed by Mr. Vogel, this one is a lazy excuse. Playing A3 in the remade version gives you the feeling Jeff(?) Vogel did not enjoy making this game himself. No love. If you like this kind of old school adventure, well, it may be for you. I like them alot, just not this uninspired and halfhearted result.

Very nice old school RPG. Technically sound, no crashes etc. A large map and you are free to explore it. Many quests - see boards in larger cities and talk to people with non generic name tag. "Rounded" combat with a lot of tactical options. Nice story, you need to read some texts from time to time, but not too much. Some hints for beginners (no spoilers): - CTRL + Click puts items in the sell later bag which is limitless and can hold tons of items - everything that has a "value xxx gold" tag can go in there to be sold later and you can never have enough money - archers are strong, high dex works incredibly well for avoiding hits from swords and spells - with a tank, archer, mage, cleric combo you cannot be wrong, other combinations may work too I had a lot of fun for 77 hours so far.
