Future GPX cyber formula sin vier is an exquisite game with dramatic game play, would not recommend for price though.

Being a huge fan of the original show and the following OVA's ever since my childhood, this is a must have.
Pro:
+ there is a total of 12 unique cars with each having their own distinguish way to handle it.
+ some cars are able to transform between circuit mode (for handling) and aero mode (for speed). those that can transform can only deploy their boost (this game nitro 10x) in aero mode, a fewer selection of cars even have a 2nd stage boost.
+ this game has a mode (Cyber System) that breaks for you when entering a corner. Later it becomes redudant, but very new player friendly (just dont get used to it c: ).
+ the cockpit and the UI is very anime accurate, which is a nice plus.
Cons:
- limited track selection, there are 14 available tracks but 7 are the reversed of the previous 7 tracks
- overall more car stats (difference of twin cars not clear) and track information (best single round time is not on the selection screen).
- while the game looks stunning, it does look and feel like a 3rd party game.
- personal pet peeve, the map is way too small on the Asurada model's.
I hope they will release expansions for different years with cars of those years (CF 2015/11 2016/ZERO 2018 and so on)
A futuristic arcade racing game with some minor issues, but still worth getting it. Its unique gameplay mechanics makes it challenging for hours.

An overall improvement to the Road to the Infinity series for the PS2. The driving physics are top-notch amazing and they're easier to get used to than in Road to the Infinity 1-4. If Project YNP can add the 2024 championship, more machines and more tracks, the game will be ten times better. Overall, good game. Definitely recommend it!

It's good to see Project YNP join Steam with Cyber Formula, a moment that I was waiting for a long time.
I think the AI in SIN VIER is more challenging than in SIN DREI, though the improvement can only be felt in the ZERO difficulty. The cockpit view is a really nice addition, but looks like the vertical offset is too high in some machines, like the EX-ZARDs and the OGRE, which breaks the immersion.
It's understandable that having most of the content from SIN DREI in SIN VIER is a sure success formula, but I would like to see more content, especially circuits, in which I hope the recognition from Sunrise becomes a help. Wouldn't mind any DLCs, would pay for it as I love the series and it's a blessing to have a game here.
Commendable effort and a really fun game, so hope for the best, Project YNP.

Excellent futuristic arcade racer with technical handling, great visual design, and smooth graphics. VR mode works well. I know this is just a polish-up of CF GPX Sin Drei, but It's nice to see the developers of this game continuing to add new features as well as offering it to the rest of the world officially.
Basically this game plays like the original F-Zero, but in 3D. You have a rocket car with some dodgy brakes and a big can of space nitro that refills every lap. In GPX, your car is invincible so you don't have to worry about staying off the walls or hitting other cars, but they do slow you down, and if you pop your booster too often to keep up with the leader, you won't have it left for when you need to make that last lap pass. Winning is accomplished by being smooth and timely with the brakes and throttle, cutting the fastest line around every corner, efficiently utilizing your booster, and staying off the walls.
Most of the cars can transform into a more aerodynamic form to increase their speed at the cost of handling. With these cars, the booster can only be used in the aero mode, so you have to decide how to employ it strategically. In this way, it's similar to a modern Formula 1 game with KERS and DRS, but with much simpler driving mechanics. The tracks are realistic in scope and could easily be fictional circuits in any real-life racing game. This makes it fast and challenging but not very difficult to pick up. It might also be a bit dull for anti-grav stunt race jockeys who need loops and corkscrews and weapons to live.
some things could be addressed however:
-the handling of cars other than the Asurada or Ogre is a bit too snappy to drive in VR. They don't turn in very smoothly and it's not visually comfortable to drive them. The Asurada and Ogre turn smoother and are more drifty so they are pleasant to drive. Everything is fine in chase cam, but the VR mode cannot use chase cam.
-the pit lane makes no sense -- you get a boost back for driving through it, the same as if you pass the start-finish line. but you don't get two boosts back for driving through the pits while going by the start-finish line so it is a slow down zone with no real purpose.
-there is no screen shake or camera movement in VR so the game feels much slower than in chase cam in normal mode. some g-force head movement or light vibration would help convey the speed a little better.
-no support for steering wheels aside from logitech g-series. boo.
-no ability to reassign controller axes or adjust deadzones so there is no way to make unsupported controllers work unless their axes are exactly what the game expects.
-AI is too easy on Zero difficulty. it's not that they're not fast enough, but they do not take corners properly and lose too much speed, so it is far too easy to overtake. They don't brake soon enough and run wide allowing the player to pass easily on the inside. Once you learn where the apexes are, the AI cannot touch you, even if you're in the Issuxark or Stratmissionel and get your canopy blown off by every other car in the straight.
-Could use some extra stats on the car select page explaining how seemingly identical cars differ in handling (like the Asurada and Nemesis or Stratmissionels), because it's not clear without driving them that the twinned cars are actually slightly different from each other.
overall a great Sega style arcade racer that has some small issues and a bit of a budget software feel, but is still worth playing. for VR it's probably one of the best futuristic racing games on the store that still has wheels on the cars, but it's lacking some refinement in its VR implementation that might make some people uncomfortable with certain car choices.
Formula One without Rules
ah Shinseki Cyberformula Sin Vier... the name rolls off your tongue like a fine wine.
this game is a very very small niche driving game with killer mechanics, fast cars and futuristic technologies and AI. what is not to love with this game?!
it's very basic. and if you have the previous versions (Sin Drei and Sin Drei Plus) i don't think it is really worth picking this version here for the VR and a new track alone. but if you haven't played it?! give it a try. go without fear, you gonna be surprised on the good quality this little gem has.
there isn't much about to this game: you pick a Cyber Formula Machine, and in no time you'll be racing, be either in time trials, in the champioship mode or Online. it's super bare-bones (lacking the flashiness of the character voiceovers and other stuff from the console games of the same franchise), but honestly, i like it. the voiceovers can get annoying after the 5th time you hear them, and the Handling of the console games were a lot hit or miss. this game is to the point. and it's fine by me.
the diferential of this game (aside from being based on Sunrise's superb Anime) is that your machine can transform mid race and that you can use a rocket boost on the straights to go ultra fast. the driving altough not Automobilista 2 or Iracing levels of realistic, is a bit Simulation focused, like a good simcade from the likes of Gran Turismo or Project Cars 2. you will need to brake on corners, you'll need to learn the corners on each circuit, and overall it is a nice refreshing change of pace in my opinion from other arcade racing games, especially in this year of 2024.
the music on this game are renditions of the anime themes, from an instrumental version of Pray (the opening theme of CF-SIN) that plays on the main menu, to other openings and famous songs in the anime, they are all there in instrumental form, and they are quite catchy. the main game theme also plays on the last track of the champioship (tokyo gio circuit), and it is a good theme imo, albeit a bit repetitive.
each machine present on the game is Imaculately modeled. the power of the graphic engine shows here in its full glory, even tho the game is not heavy at all and can run on a variety of system specs. my RTX 4070 for example, barely needed to do any effort at all, with it at times not even using the fans to run this game.
The cockpits are Beautifuly modeled, to coincide with the VR portion of the game, and you can pilot in cockpit view even without using a VR headset. the team deserves all the Kudos on that regard.
however not everything is perfect:
even if you deactivated the cyber system help in the options (which imo is the way to play this game and learn to go fast), in the banked corners the cyber system of the car will want to take control from you, overriding the obvious instincts you may have of taking the corner manually (last corner of Barcelona and the Big corner at Sydney in particular does this a lot). this can lead to your machine slamming into a wall and costing you precious time if you don't adapt to it.
The VR can be a Bit nauseating. but this is true to all kinds of AI games. i did not feel it personally, but others tend to, and i know how bad it feels, because i do feel it in first person shooters.
i miss the smaller teams from the Console games. SGM, K.A.M. Stampede, AGS (my favorite), PPP belladona, Stag, Khoi-nor, Nourish Xi... they are all missing, and their machines to up the grid would be a welcome adition to the game. not to mention we could have earlier machines, like the Stil Series, Exsperion, Al-Zard and others that don't show up. (maybe a classic machine mode for the game?!)
the game also needs more tracks: Campo Grande, Augsburg, Postbridge, San Marino, Shenzen, Katsuragi, Fujioka, and more, are all tracks that we had on the Console and that this game is missing badly.
also, a Career mode wouldn't kill imo. recreating the Grand Prixes from the Anime like we had in the console version would go a long way to make this game more feature rich.
FINAL VEREDICT: 8/10
overal, this is a nice little gem if you didn't play yet. i'd say pick it when it's on sale and you got a change to spare. the price for me is a big salty on my pocket ($99 BRL - 79BRL on sale), but imo it is a nice game that any enthusiast of the anime should take a look on.

hi i am a huge fan of this anime and i would highly recamend it to anyone who has not watched it yes its only in jap but doze have sub. but onto the game it self. the game is very esay to play but doze provide a good challenge on the higher settings the online play is good aswell. the pros 1. you get all the last models of the car's from the show and they all have their own little perks and draw backs for instance the asurada doze not have asurada's cyber system voice but he doze move his head and so on with him doing his speaking lights. you do get 6 tracks it will say 12 but its just the six reversed but plz donlt look down apon this game this is the first cyber formula game with an internationl release so if the game do well profit wise we might even get to see some of the older games come back and be able to play them also we might be able to get the older cars and such over all i would say the game is very well made with great fps and details on the tracks and cars. cons 1 of the cars booster units is to large compared to it in the show but im not complaning here. anyway for those of you who wish to know the contraols for it or if your trying to figuerout how to use boosters here is what you do to steer you use the leaft and right arrow keys shifting is the up and down arrow keys and to drive you have to hold Z to dreak you have to hold A but if you have the cyber system on it auto breaks wixh doze no impead you at all mode change is taping X to use the boosters you have to tap S and then again when the little boost ring closes around the boosters with lets you do the second stage boost ming you only a few cars have the second stage boost but i hope this helps you with the game and i know this wassent a decent review but i hope it helped

This game has a good foundation. The cars look incredible, and the detail is astonishing. There's a few errors here and there, though, like details that are absent or changed compared to the source material, as well as some minor visual bugs with decals and such when a car changes modes. The driving is super fun. Challenging, but not unfair, just takes some getting used to. The AI isn't great, though, but it's not like this game has much singleplayer content to begin with. The multiplayer is dead most days of the week, but I've managed to find a few people. They're really good at the game, though, I simply couldn't compete.
However, there's two things that seriously bother me, and one of which is where DREI Plus has an advantage. The previous game has a huge leg up regarding the game's speed. And I mean its *actual* speed, not the speed shown on the speedometer (which is supposed to be in km/h). It's not even close to accurate, the cars are far too slow.
Now, I realize that doesn't sound like much of a problem, but consider what Cyber Formula is. It's not just weird Japanese Formula 1. It's the most extreme auto racing competition on the planet, with machines capable of going 700+ KMH. This is very poorly reflected in the speeds the cars are actually going, which my guess is around 300-400 KMH at most. Oh, and the tracks are quite literally scaled down from DREI Plus to accommodate the slower speeds. Doesn't look great when smaller, I'll be honest.
There are Cyber Formula games out there that properly replicate the real speeds, like most of the Road to the Infinity games for PS2, so I know it's possible, and has been for a long time already. Hell, DREI Plus was the game made directly before this one, and by the same people as this game! If you can do it once, I'm sure you can do it again!
The other thing is how the grip cars handle. There's only a few drift cars in the game, those being the AKF-0/G, the AN-21, and the red 00-X3/II if I remember correctly. The rest are grip cars (including the purple Z/A-11, surprisingly), and the way they turn... well, let's just say there's no point in using an analog stick. It's either full steering or straight ahead. If you're precise enough, you could potentially use the analog stick properly, but it's insanely difficult and not viable for serious racing. I could barely achieve partial steering myself, and that's when I'm putting all my focus into it!
Honestly, I prefer DREI Plus over VIER, despite how much better this game looks graphically, because the effects are more faithful to the source material, and the speeds are more accurate to the speedometer. I also just kinda wish it wasn't so dead...

Having spent Countless hours playing the previous game Cyber Formula SIN Drei Plus, I can say that Vier is more a graphic overhaul and VR compatible version of Drei Plus.
Some of these reviews are based on my own experience in the game which might differ from how others might experience it.
Pros:
-unique racing mechanics: some cars have the ability to change between circuit mode (for handling) and aero mode (for speed). In addition, all cars have a maximum limit of 3 boosts (that is restored either by clearing a lap or stopping at the pit) to get through those long straightaways, and fewer still have a 2nd stage boost to give you that edge in the home stretch.
-unique vehicle behavior: every car type has a unique edge in the category of speed, acceleration, and handling. Which there will be some similarities between some cars, they are unique enough that requires you to adopt a different mindset when driving said cars.
-gorgeous visuals: for a 3rd party game, the environment and the vehicles looks great. While there will be some hiccups with some of the vehicles graphics, especially for those that can switch modes. New to the series is an actual cockpit model that is modeled accurately to the series which is a nice plus.
Cons:
Limited track selection: while the game offers a choice of 12 tracks, in reality it only has 6 on account that the other half are just a mirrored version. Though personally I’ll give the company some slack on the fact that they are a third party company without any major first party support.
Collision detection: or lack thereof. The issue is much more pronounced in a multiplayer race, where if you are fast enough, you can actually phase through your opponent. And if at equal or slower speed both cars feels like they are tethered to each other though the actual effect is not game breaking that would make the game unplayable. In general, do not expect the kind of collision physic from the likes of Gran Turismo or Forza.
Personally I recommend getting this game on account that is Project YNP and Cyber Formula’s first entry into the western market. Cyber Formula fans can rejoice now that the game has an international release, racing fans can enjoy a unique racing mechanic that the game provides.
