game doesnt load or takes forever to start up

If you have played the previous games from Piranha Bytes, you basically know what to expect here.

I finally played it to the end. It makes me sad that it will be my last PB game, since they closed business. Thank you Piranha Bytes for the countless hours of explorations in the various Gothic, Risen and Elex titles! Here are my thoughts on Elex II: Elex II reminds me of Gothic 3 (Long time fans of PB, will know what I mean). Great ideas, a very nice world to explore (I loved the jet pack), but there are so many unpolished things. Dialogues are unfinished and awkward, balancing seems off, attack animations are slow, attack patterns are strange,... . And the story had so many things to give, but was poorly told (IMO). I can recommend the game, if you like Gothic, Risen or Elex 1. If you haven't played those games, i'd wait for Gothic 1 the remake.

Compared to Elex 1, the fights are less clunky. You also don't need 10 hours at the start to be able to defeat monsters without problems, but everything else... is horrible. The atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic world populated by mutants is gone. Instead there is green and flowers everywhere. The only faction with an identity are morkons. The quests are mostly "go and kill X monsters" and it gets worse towards the end. The main quest and especially the ending are so bad that it outweighs all the advantages. In summary: the game has lost all identity and become a mediocre RPG with very bad quests.

Definitely not a game that a company should have gone under upon releasing it. Very very very good Piranha Bytes-style CRPG, exploration is among the best you'll find in the genre, a truly huge map to explore that is densely packed with goodies and hidden caches, so much content and Skills and LOOT and... well you get the idea. Top shelf CRPG if you ask me but I'm just a nobody who loves RPGs... RIP PB Long Live Piranha Bytes and greatly looking forward to their new work as Pithead, which the owners of PB put together as a new dev studio. Cheers guys thanks for reading! P.S. Should also make a comment about the Bestiary in the game, soooo freaking cool, not only the actual text-based Bestiary which describes all the monsters, but the huge variety of creatures in the game to discover and fight against, really remarkable stuff they pulled off there and makes the open-world a real joy to explore. Def had to mention that!
