too short, too boring. bonus points for being an ambitious project, but the puzzle in chapter two is too boring and meaningless. I don't despise retro visual novel style games (e.g.Yuppie Psycho), but this one is just not that great.

I played the Episode 1 Beta on another site (Game Jolt I think?) but bought it here to support and leave a review. It's an extremely interesting game in that it somehow combines a text adventure (normally 'safe') with something like Alien Isolation. Looking forward to Episode 2. The pixel art and little UI sequences are superb. The love of Alien franchise is very apparent. It's there for you to geek out with the developer almost, rather than pretend and hide the influence. And it is made by just a single developer, in a very short amount of time (just a few months). Very impressive and worth checking out if you want something different, or a little indie inspiration/intimidation.

Loved the first episode. It's a point&click game that's closer to a being visual novel with a plot similar to the classic movie Alien. I like how it has a text-based feel but illustrated by being able to examine what's displayed on computer screens and other clever ways to make the story more immersive. Even though the story is nothing new to me, it is still well done and carries a lot of suspense. Episode two started out strong too, but I found myself taking a break from it after getting a bit frustrated. At one part you need to occasionally find a room to hide, but it's hard backtracking to find one and the conditions that lead you to needing to hide feel arbitrary. I died a handful of times and didn't want to repeat it over again to take another chance so stopped playing for the time being. I understand how needing to hide can help further immerse you in the story, but the way it's done feels too annoying for a game that focuses on progressing the story over roguelike deaths.

Bottom line at the top: This is a unique visual novel/ top down point & click/text adventure horror game. It kind of eludes definition, the closest thing I've played recently that even comes close in style would be Stories Untold. Cool 80's sci-fi action visual style and music. Short, but engaging. If you can find it on sale I'd say pick it up and try it out! Pros -------------------------------------------- -As a big fan of the Alien movies and The Thing, this obviously was a must try for me. -Music had kind of a Escape from New York vibe. -Cool 80's retro-future screen interface and game play -Story draws you into very quickly Meh. -------------------------------------------- -As of right now there are only two chapters available Cons -------------------------------------------- -No save feature or way to exit game play besides finishing chapter. -Short. About an hours worth of play time between two chapters. -At $5 its a little pricey for just an hours worth of game play -If you mess up avoiding the monster you have to backtrack over again If your looking for a way to kill a lunch break and are a fan of 80's sci-fi I'd try this one out. As always try to look for a sale. Looking forward to trying future chapters!

If you like old sci-fi horror (especially Alien) and text based/point and click games, you'll dig it. The gameplay segment in chapter 2 is genuinely tense. Just a shame it's so short, however. It would also be good if there were more player decisions available as far as the story. I look forward to playing more in the future.

Benjy! I've played a lot of games and have a LOT of games in my library. Can tell you, for a fact, this has been one of the coolest experiences I've enjoyed when playing a game. I really hope you continue adding chapters and content (and like the other reviewer i'd be happy to help in anyway possible). Game took me about an hour to get to the "to be continued..." part at the end of chapter 2. Will patiently be waitng for more content. Thanks again for your hard work and imagination Benjy!

While i recommend this game i do so only because it is currently being sold at 3.99€. I bought it on a sale so i paid about 1.5€. The style is great and the story was interesting but it is very short. You'll be done in about an hour and that's with me messing up a puzzle. THE GAME IS NOT FINISHED CURRENTLY. There are only 2 chapters available. Knowing this you can decide if it is worth 4€ or not.

This game clearly "gets" it. From the John Carpenter-esque music playing over the Alien-inspired menu screen, through to the groovy dialogue and genuinely claustrophobic atmosphere of the game itself, this low-budget homage to 70s sci-fi/horror hits a pretty decent home run. (Albeit one that's "To Be Continued".) Okay, so it's more of an interactive storytelling experience - with some old-school text adventure puzzling, and a touch of sneakily-crafted stealth-horror "action" - than what most of you might call a regular "game". It still makes for a very easy recommend to just about anyone who hasn't stopped reading already. You know who you are, and you know what to do. I won't spoil things further, except to warn that it is very short for the money being asked - potentially under an hour, for the craftier players out there - so a sale is probably advised. Verdict: 8/10. You know, I'd like to recommend this, but right now it's incomplete and as such it's a) pretty short and limited, and b) ends on a cliffhanger that might never get resolved. The dev mentions plans for 3 episodes. Right now there's one in place, and it's been two years with no sign of any more. The game's FB page hasn't been updated since last year. Having said that, what's here is good. It does a good job of establishing the feel of something very John Carpenter. The music and atmosphere is a clear homage to The Thing, with a very strong dose of Alien. The game is played through a flickering CRT screen, and all the terminals and presentation are intended to feel like late 70's / early 80's microcomputers. So far, so good. The gameplay comes in two flavours, the first being a story-centric chronicle of events and personal interactions where you have virtually no input, the second being exploration of a map with a limited set of commands. It strongly reminds me of a very old Mindscape version of "Alien" for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, the Chapter 2 part in particular where you're trapped in a map with a monster tracking you. It's actually quite simple to beat, the monster appears to be on a timer which is easily reset, but it feels good. But that's it, solve a couple of simple puzzles which will take you an hour, and the story ends on a cliffhanger with little chance of resolution by the looks of it. Bear in mind you can't save the game, so you need to play each chapter in one sitting. You also can't quit without hitting ALT+F4. By all means buy it when it's on sale like I did, otherwise check back in a year or two and see if it's been finished.
