Visceral Cubes Reviews

After losing contact with a space station on mars, you are sent to retrieve a high value item for the company. It didn’t take very long for our protagonist to find out that something went very very wrong in this place. Use stealth to get past your enemies or run for your life hoping that they don't catch up and explode in your face.

I can't be certain but, I do not think this game is done. Or, maybe the devs are funny joker guys. Because I can't, for the life of me, find the last keycard.

Neat little game. Takes about 30 minutes to complete. By the time you complete the game, you may get all the achievements. The stealth part of the game is very weak, it is more feasible to grab enemies attention and then outrun them. I highly recommend this game for achievement hunters. It is worth the $0.49 price.

An enjoyable and cheap minecraft quality game where you try and avoid exploding zombies. It took me just over half hour to complete it, however there were two gamebreaking bugs, one of which forced me to restart the game entirely, did annoy me slightly. Usually something like that would result in a negative review, however the game being short and still fun on a second playthrough didn't affect me too much.

I paid 20 cents for this game and... i guess it's worth it. Fairly simple little horror game that has 30 minutes to 1 hour of content. It does however come with fair share of bugs but overall a decent experience, atleast it has a good auto-save system so the bugs ain't that punishing.

Not an enjoyable experience. All attacks can one-shot you, there's barely any ammo, tons of bugs, and above all, figuring out where you're meant to go is incredibly confusing at times, especially towards the end.

Very short but pretty neat, Visceral Cubes packs a surprising amount of suspense for a game which is basically a showcase of older Unity assets. Suitably spooky music adds to what are mostly poorly-lit rooms. The zombies are terrifying, they've got great path finding and make one heck of a mess when they explode - get a few in a small area and you'll literally paint the walls red when they cook off. Combine the above with a sickeningly low ammo count for the flare gun and pipe bombs and you can expect to spend a good amount of your time fleeing instead of fighting. Achievement hunters will be happy to note all included can be unlocked in around an hour, simply playing the game to completion once will unlock them. Easy recommend especially at its current price.

Visceral Cubes is like a simplified version of games like Outtlast and Amnesia, where if you get spotted, you try your best to outrun your enemies...if you can. Pros -While the game uses minecraftian type of graphics, it does an excellent job to portray a horror atmosphere. Sometimes you even forget about the squarish graphics and give in to ominous feelings. I didn't expect that. -The level design is great. While the game is not very long, it does a good job to keep the environments different looking. -While simple, the gameplay has some hidden tricks up his sleeve. In this game it is easier to survive after getting spotted, however while trying to outrun an enemy, you may bump into a second one resulting on your death. I found these situations where the game makes you lose control of the situation to be very enjoyable. -The explossion effects of the enemies look very good. The pieces fall all over the the environment. -The music is pretty good, gets the adrenaline running when an enemy spots you. -Steam achievements that do not require you an giaenormous grind. -The game pricing ranges from fair to cheap for the package. Cons. -The gameplay formula gets old by the end of the game, like all the games of this genre. -I found a gamebreaking bug, posted about it and got a fast response with a workaround. The game new and so the devs are still polishing the game. -There doesn't seem to be a difference from when you are walking or crouching when walking behind an enemy. -The game needs tiny polishings here and there, for example when you pickup a keycard by walking next to it. It dissapears and nothing indicates you that you picked it, a sound or notice would be good. You can always press ESC to see what you have, but small additions like this would be appreciated. Random Point VC has one of the best game over screens I've seen. When enemies explode in your face, the game over screen freezes the game in the middle of the explosion and it looks pretty cool if you are facing the explosion. Veredict Visceral cubes is a good simple enjoyable game, but it brings to the table the same problems all the other hide and run games have. I recommend it if you like horror games and don't have a lot of money to spend, especially now that it is on sale. As for the devs, keep polishing the game, it is on the verge from being just a good game to be something great, especially if the game is worked towards defining a new identity.
