Should've known better than to trust Chinese scammers. The game is abandoned and likely will never be finished now.

Isn't hard to fall in love with this one.
First off, the art style is really good, I enjoy the Cthulu-esque settings and designs.
One issue is the English translation isn't very accurate at times, so you may be confused as to the story, or what an item or upgrade does.
The tutorial is not repeatable, and didn't explain things properly enough.
The controller support is a touch flakey, you can't use the D-Pad to select and use hotkey items ( such as potions )
on a keyboard, you would hit 1 through 4 o use them. ON a controller, you'll need to bring up the menu with select, and use one ( the game doesn't pause )
or just reach over to your keyboard and hit the 1 through 4 keys ( that's what I ended up doing, it works alright )
You've got a few characters, and one unlockable one - I only used a single character though.
You have skill trees of a few types - passive skills you unlock with one currency in the hub ( far right npc )
and 3 other things - equip bonuses, special moves, and money skills ( on the far left NPC in hub area )
The fighting is decent, you can find melee, magical or ranged weps, and you also have sub weapons like mines, boomerangs, etc.
Seems liek a good amount of content, I played for a long time on one round and I think I died at the final boss.
The game is in early access, and will continue to get updated and polished.
It's worth a go if you saw this, was interested; but saw CHINESE ONLY - because it is no longer only in Chinese.
cheers!

Dissimilated Land is actually a pretty good roguelite brawler, it's a shame that it never got that English translation. While the game is playable if you have decent reflexes, there are many stats and effects that are hard to understand without translation; I just pick the items with the highest numbers. The game is fully playable on my F310 controller, but it took me about 90 minutes to figure out the default controls (just because of the regional differences). You can change controls in the settings, assuming that you know how to navigate them. It's a very beautiful game, hence the language barrier did not stop me from buying it. The developers put a lot of work into animation, story drawings, and stage design. Overall, it's a relatively generic roguelite, but it has all of the required mechanics that I expect in this genre (fun RPG elements, risk vs reward & nice random features).
Combat & Roguelite elements
There are 3 playable characters to start with (4th is locked). They have some unique abilities and attributes, but for the most part, you are not forced into a specific role. Each character is capable of using most of the weapons and skills, so you can make your ranged character into a melee brawler, or you can just adapt to a situation based on what gear you have. The game has a huge variety of active abilities, such as sub-weapons, weapon skills, and other special attacks. In terms of game format, it's a pretty generic roguelite, but I don't mean it in a negative way. It has permadeath, randomly generated rooms, and some interesting "risk vs reward" elements. I was surprised by its variety of random events that you can come across. You can run into things like random shops, quest givers, mercenaries and unique challenges. I don't have anything negative to say when it comes to gameplay in general, although I find the blocking somewhat unreliable because it takes so long to raise the shield. Aside from that, you can purchase all kinds of passive and active upgrades, not to mention a huge variety of weapons.
Pros:
+ beautiful animation & nice stage variety
+ you can remap controller (used F310)
+ many active and passive skills
+ huge variety of items and upgrades
+ 3 playable characters (4th is locked)
+ well designed random events
+ achievements
Cons:
- needs original soundtrack
- the hitboxes are a bit annoying (but serviceable)
- not a con, but a translation would be nice <.<
Overall Thoughts: 8/10
I would say that Dissimilated Land is above average as far as this genre goes - held back by translation and soundtrack. While I might be able to point out some nitpicks with hitboxes, overall the game is perfectly fine. Not sure why it has mixed reviews, I think it has a good variety of active skills and random events. The artwork is also a huge highlight of this title, just lovely animation, and stage design. English, please.
