The Stillness of the Wind Reviews

A quiet game of life and loss. One by one, everyone left the village for the city. Everyone, except Talma. Approaching her final years, she maintains a simple way of life tending to her homestead, surviving, subsisting, whilst increasingly disturbing letters arrive from her family in the city.

I didn't think I could become so attached to a in-game character so fast. Getting into Talma's routine, her little possessions, her little animals and all the love she had for everything was truly a one in a lifetime experience for a game. I loved it from beginning to end, the storytelling is a bit everywhere, and you start to understand more and more as you play. I cried at a lot of points in the game, but specially when it ended. I will always remember Talma and her little farm, that i can assure you.

What a weird game. EDIT: To add to this now that I've processed it a little more. The game goes in a pretty unique direction, and I don't want to spoil too much, but people picking it up for the sale may want to be aware that it's not "cozy" and it's not a management sim. There are some light management aspects, and the simple pleasure of a soothing, unhurried routine backed by relaxing music that helps create an atmosphere. And that atmosphere sets the stage for the more complicated story the game wants to tell. This is interactive fiction at its core though, not Stardew Valley. The story is a bittersweet one, which I did expect. But it gets a little strange too in ways that leave you staring at the credits going "what a weird game" when you reach the end. I'm still thinking it.
