This game is one of if not the best RTS game to emerge in a really long time. It does a phenomenal job of keeping you engaged while progressively introducing urgent challenges that aid in understanding new units. It hearkens back to previous RTS games that inspired it, but it really stands out as its own thing. This game is severely underrated and ought to be played by anyone itching to see how the RTS genre can really evolve.

I want to love it but its like. high 6. low 7. "mid to above average"
Mostly for the vision and design. where the game points and how it tries to color their ideas is nice and puts the game up above mid RTS, but the problem lies in small things like unit pathing, the story takes odd leaps to get from one place to the net. kind of like the cartoon "Final space"
example of such a thing.. imagine having a story but its has small holes that need filled. so you just do what you can. **The bad guy needs to show up here... umm.. so i guess he find the hero with a tracker. yeah. how? who cares.. thats not what we're doing.. we're bringing the bad guy.. not telling their life story"
*** Do this type of hole fill any way youre able any place its needed. and make it so the units bash into eachother or take the longest way possible. or focus enemy harvest building while attack moving rather than enemy units for reasons we dont care about.

Buy it onsale and have fun with a different take on rts. not because its gold standard but because giant robot fights. fek yeah
(Pathing problems and other nonsense can be helped if youre a vigilant person with micro managing control groups and setting up ways to kite enemies through fog. theres game elements to use and abuse that arent hateful unless you let the AI go about it.. then you'll have a bad time.
What cant be fixed is the story *random mission objective where targets trying to excape the map for example and spawns very close to the edge, mean while you have no option for a speedy troop.. youll need to reload an autosave and dash guys to where you think thats going to happen before hand.. lame... gets the story to the next part i guess but ewwwww....
Giant units will cram up on eachother. common RTS problem but made worse if you dont micromanage the smallest movements at times.
Set up groups using CTRL + the numbers 1-0 like any rts. flip them frequently, play them off eachother.
hate mechanics less this way, still cry at story and not because it is sad but because they broke it sadly lmao. root for girl with bear because, mauled a face.. many times over <3

Classic RTS, with a fun, if campy, story. I really enjoyed the playing the campaign and world map. I really hope the multiplayer is kept on and in the future the unit pathing needs a little work.

A step backwards from the Company of Heroes franchise it was supposedly meant to be the spiritual successor to. A shame really as the setting and characters are fairly interesting. Unfortunately, the actual RTS gameplay just feels worse than CoH. Not worth your time. Just go play any of the CoH games instead.
