It's very early Alpha but I like the concept. The voice acting isn't half bad the levels and enemies need work but again it's super early on for this title and I'm glad to see true independant devs at work. I've spent more on worse that's for damn sure. So I'm going to keep the game and watch how it goes. The gaming world could use a good "Leap of Faith" project and no better place than VR to do it. Good luck devs I'm pulling for you!

So unfortunately the developer didn't come through with the giveaway link. I was told he would have 50 keys that he was going to give away and that he'd give me a link before I released the video. I've held off releasing this for a few days and still nothing. That doesn't bode well... Though he did pop into Discord today to say he'd uploaded a patch to the game.
Especially with the state of this game. I picked it up during the Steam Winter Sale.
The good:
I like the ideas here. I like the level select tavern where you're buying an adventurer a beer and he/she's telling you their story.
I liked the voice acting. Some of it felt a bit rushed and off but in general I liked the direction it was going.
Classless system. Pick up whatever and go to town.
The bad:
Oh boy... I don't enjoy ripping into someones baby but there's a lot here that makes this game not ready even for EA.
Weapon angles are severely off. Break your wrist, off.
The sound effects for killing the worms sound like a bomb went off in your headset.
Weapon balance is pretty bad. Some melee weapons do very little damage while others are essentially one hit kill weapons. My guess is that they're bugged and doing more damage than intended. Other weapons like the bow do virtually no damage what so ever.
I never found the 'Magic' weapon that was promised.
Bow mechanics are one handed aiming while the second hand does absolutely nothing but pull and release. No two handed aiming.
Hands had collides making grabbing weapons difficult.
Headlook orientation though that could be a plus or a minus depending on your outlook. It does help while fighting to not worry about pointing your controller the wrong direction.
Boss fights with no indicators that you're doing any damage to it that take an excessive amount of time to take down.
Inconsistent art assets that detracted from immersion.
I'm going to stop here.
Put simply, this game isn't ready for EA. It needed private play testers in a very bad way prior to going EA. The game felt like it had potential but I think the decision to release the game too early has probably sealed its fate.

Ok, I just tried it out. My full review.
Good:
Movement is full touchpad locomotion on left pad with quick turn using right pad or you can turn in your area. Movement feels great if you can handle that style. There is NO teleport.
NPC and enemy models look really great. So does the weapons. Plenty of melee weapons to pick up along the quest. Only found one bow.
Everything was very smooth as far as gameplay mechanics go.
Party setup looks pretty easy and so does party joining and such. There just wasn't anyone online for me to party with.
UPDATE:
Multiplayed with 2 other players. One was the dev. Multiplayer was very fun indeed. The game really shines in this area. I got to complete all adventures and see everything that the game has to offer. Very good developer interaction and very excited to see that they are on top of things are going to work out all the kinks.
Bad:
So much needs worked on. Sign says place a drink next to a patron to start a story. I did that, It doesn't say that it can take about 5 seconds for anything to happen so naturally I was thinking it wasn't going to work but it eventually kicked in and started. There were no other players at all to even do multiplayer so I did single player.
UPDATE: They have changed the timing.
[strike]Holding weapons is a nightmare. You have to continue to hold in your side buttons (VIVE) the whole time or you would drop them. Hands get tired after a while. This is so game breaking and such a pain. Needs to be click side to pick up, click again to drop them if you want to.[/strike]
UPDATE: This has been fixed with click to hold or drop. Much easier
The bow is about useless if you do actual turning and not snap turn because the quiver of arrows is locked into one position next to your side but if you turn in real life it rotates around your body and can end up behind you, or way off to the left etc. If you use the bow, you must only use snap turn to turn or you're screwed. Shooting is weird to, you shoot straight but the arrows turns sideways in mid flight as if it's a bad shot but it hits the mark still. It needs to just fly straight.
UPDATE: They fixed the flight of the arrow but the quiver is still an issue.
The level I did was more of a maze of identical walls. Not very eye popping but fighting mobs was fun. Skeletons and gargoyles look great but the green slime looked goofy and out of place. I coudn't open any cell doors to get to chests in the cells. Tried like mad to figure them out and no luck. I never did finish the level. Same stuff over and over. I did a few little tasks within the dungeon but never could find the exit. I got bored and my hands were starting to hurt from holding the side buttons the whole time.
Tried another level. The desert. Was more open and looked like fun but the walking movement was so incredibly slow. I'd see building in the distance and wanted to walk over and explore but the movement being so slow deterred me. I never noticed the slow walking in the dungeon so much but in the open world it's a killer.
UPDATE: They fixed the walk speed by upping it X1.5 and it's so much better and now it's click to hold items and no longer having to hold.
No player stats or anything at all to mess with. No player menu to equip better armor or items. No potions or anything. Just hack n slash and everyone has the same gear which from all I can see is just the weapons you find along the way.
UPDATE: They are working to add a few things here but its not in the initial release.
They advertise voice lines but I think I heard voice lines maybye 3 times the whole time I played. There was very little and it wasn't anything all that funny really. Just normal lines that you might expect but said in a silly voice.
UPDATE: After trying a few other quests there are more voices than originally thought. I just happen to pick the quest with the current least amount.
Summary:
This game has a long way to go but the party system and opening tavern is a strong positive. They just need to keep developing and address several of the issues I mentioned above and I think it could shape up to be enjoyable. [strike] If patches and fixes are released that better the game and I feel that it needs to be changed to a recommended positive review I will do so but as of now I just can't recommend it.[/strike] I am going to now recommend because of the personal experience I had with the developers. They are active listeners and are dedicated to making things work better. It's early access so expect some bugs but also expect swift reply and fixes as well.

I purchased this game when it came out for early access and tried it out. Had a couple issues I didn't like at all. Someone had already posted a review highlighting all the issues I had with the game. What impressed me was how quick the game developers fixed these things. They pushed an update fixing many things the reviewer mentioned within a few hours! I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. It is in early access so there's a lot to work on, but seeing the devs quickly resolve issues makes me think it'll be growing quick. With the devs this active, I can't help but feel this game will continue to expand and improve into an amazing game.

I believe this has some great potential in the future with proper animations and proper combat system. Maybe my expectations were set too high after playing VR Dungeon Knight, but heres my $0.02. I realize this is a brand new release into early access.
Pros:
+I really like the physics in the game.
+I really, really, really liked the movement system in the game. I'm one of the few people who doesn't get motion sick at all, so being able to move around freely like a normal game is wonderful.
+I love the textures and the way the lobby area works. (Wish there was a list of weapons and stuff to mess around with)
+Voice acting is neat.
Cons:
-The way weapons are handled - You basically have to point at stuff to be properly holding your weapon, it doesn't feel intuitive at all.
-No actual threat of dying as far as I could tell.
-3 enemies along with plenty of locked doors with no apparent way in.
-Only a few weapons.
-There didn't feel like an actual combat system; there's no parrying or timing your swings or trying. You can literally put the tip of your weapon in an enemy and move back and forth lightly and instakill anything.
-Bows are extremely weak due to how you can fight with melee.
-Quivers being twats and not rotating with you in real life, only when you rotate with controller. (I realize you can have one or the other, but I'd rather it rotate with both, personally.)
-I'm assuming there will be upgraded weapons and stuff later but right now its a bit lackluster.
Maybe later when its more fleshed out, but right now I do not think it is worth $15.
