I've been playing this on mobile and I'm about half way through the easy campaign.
There are SO many improvements and balances from Harbinger, for example, point defence is useful against destroying ships due to the main weapons getting reduced range. Hangars are no longer the game's meta (unlike in Harbinger) and the meta seems to be non-existent, at least for easy difficulty. I really like the ability to build your OWN stations, even if they are very simple (I really like the designs of them too!). I like the upgrade system, where instead of just upgrading a single weapon, you upgrade the weapon as a whole which means that every place that the weapon is used will receive the upgrade (This is one of my favourite aspects), on the topic of upgrades, you don't even need the weapon installed on any ship/station to upgrade it!
I honestly have nothing negative to say about Sector Siege.
Harbinger is still one of my favourite games, but Sector Siege may be taking the crown for me.
Edit: I recently came across a couple of quite possibly game breaking metas, for example the PD energy gatling deals an absurd amount of shield AND hull damage. Nukes are rather powerful and it can be hard to shoot them down. Either way, that is the only bad thing I have to say for it.
(I still really enjoy the game)
