Game is about shipbuilding keeping your dumb expendable crew alive and plundering the galaxy of it's natural ressources :D

I really liked this game. It's kind of a based (ship) building, resource game you play in the first person. The layout of your ship matters only from the point of making it easier to handle infestations and pirate attacks, but otherwise, build as you want.
Yes, the planetary mission are very samey, but you can auto run those. The game can feel a little rinse and repeat, but I think it looks pretty good, the customisation is enough and towards the end you can by quite powerful, but still not invincible. I also have over 350hrs on my gog account. I just wish it allowed to keep more than 1 save and had VR. Would buy a Genesis Alpha 2 if it came along.
