Thought it would be a Fun ancient military game and it is not. The game mechanics are not explained well in the tutorials, and when you start your first campaign you will loss half of your army so you are even with the computer who will out number you two to three times as much. Never seen a game that makes you loses good men to make balance and the balance is in the computers favor so it can win.

This is a great game in many ways, particularly when married to Field of Glory: Empires, and played on the latter as a historical campaign.

One of the best history inspired turn based game that offers an incredible amount of depth&complexity but also provides a clear and easy to comprehend interface to assist&provide the player with all the necessary information to smooth out what would otherwise be quite a steep learning curve...
There is smth to enjoy both for those interested in pvp but especially those that can appreciate a sandbox experience vs decent AI and would like to embark on epic campaigns that let them carry on their surviving troops and see them promoted from mere raw recuits to hardened veterans while you as a player learn to bettter leverage the strenghs of your chosen faction's units&tactics to gain more then the occasional Phyric victory...

Extremely good at what it does. Doesn't pretend to be anything else. You won't find a more satisfying historical wargame that covers this era of history. The Medieval version of the game is also fantastic.
